Considering Windows Edition was built from the ground up and isn't a port, and we saw last year an nvidia/luminous engine demo vid that had keyboard/mouse controls on screen (which was what got people expecting a PC version in the first place, hard to deny seeing FFXV in real tme with pc controls running from a pc) , I'm sure the KB&M controls will be fine, and I expect fully rebindable. The dev team of the PC version has stated clearly they want this to be the best they can make it, and considering they've already said they're gonna be open on modding, I have no reason to disbelieve them.

No matter how good the keyboard and mouse controls are, I play these type of games with a controller.

I will try both and see which is better for me. I am expecting to go with controller. I have done well to keep myself in the dark about ffxv and dont know anything about it. Only footage i have seen is from the bench mark tool. Every ff title i have played was with a controller.

Controller on these type of games. Usually I prefer KB+M but this is just the kind of game that's made with controllers in mind.

Controller for sure. You don't really need to aim accurately, so I'll take smoother movement/turning over accuracy in this case.

Usually I always prefer games with (third person)3D movement to be played on controller for the smooth movement.

But the thing with FFXV is, the movement doesnt feel that "3D". I dont know hot to explain it to someone who hasnt played it yet, but the movement is pretty "firm".

Also, combat(the weakest part of the game unfortunately) is almost entirely based on one button and feels very mechanical in nature, so people who prefer kb/m probably won't get the impression that it doesnt "feel" right.

I'll definitely go for the controller. Hell, I bought a DualShock 4 and the wireless adapter for this game.

You dont need a wireless adapter unless you have no bluetooth on your pc/laptop, which is what the adapter is for. Maybe you know this already but I just wanna mention it.
