Some doubts about overclocking?
Hello i did the benchmark test an got around 6000 with 1080p and high settings.
I was expecting to play the game in ultra settings :)
And im thinking about overclocking my system.
My PC specs are these:

Motherboard:Asus Strix Z270E
CPU:i7-7700k
GPU:Asus Strix Geforce GTX 1070 Ti Advanced Binned
RAM:Corsair Vengeance 16 Gb 3200 Mhz
Case:Corsair Spec-Alpha
Cooler:LiquidCooler Kraken X42
PSU:Corsair CX750 750 Watt

Maybe someone that knows about this can help me with some doubts i have.
Im not really good with this :(
The Mobo has the Ai Suite 3 and the option called 5-Way Optimization that supposedly overclocks your PC.

-Soo has anyone tried this utility, does it works?

-Does it get the best performance of your PC?

-Also my greatest doubt is if the PSU with only the 750 Watts will be enough to overclock the PC or will i have issues for messing with the voltage regulation?

_Also will the PSU will be enough to overclock also the GPU?

Thanks for any help :)

You should uninstall AI suite, it's a big CPU hog.

MSI Afterburner is a much better overlocking utility

Your PSU is fine. I have a 650W PSU and have a heavily overclocked 6700K & GTX 980 TI on a closed loop and your components require less power.

MSI yeah is better, just remember to also change the power and temperature limit, and overclock incrimentally so you can check if the overclock is stable

You can overclock just fine, but use afterburner. Its easier and better overall. Though on top of overclocking, you can also new flash rom. Sometime you can see few fps increase.

I just do manual overclocks in bios for CPU and MSI After burner for GPU.

It's best you look up a guide such as this: https://rog.asus.com/articles/guides/the-kaby-lake-overclocking-guide/

Once you go through it you will realize it's actually very easy.

BTW, your PSU is more than enough.

Install MSI Afterburner 4.4+ and set power limit of your card to the maximum. The card will do overclock itself. Thats the way Pascal cards working. You may try to tweak vram clock if you want extra.
Your CPU doesen't need overclocking since the game isn't CPU demanding.
Anyway something off with your system sinse i get almost 6800 with my base 1070.

Wow tyvm for all for the help :)
Ill unistall the Ai Suite 3, use the MSI Afterburner and check the guide :)

Also i forgot about this :/
What are the top temperatures that are safe for the CPU, and GPU?

Again thanks for the help to all of you :)

Depend on your components quality. Silicon itself will easily withstand even 150C, your CPU will start throttle at 100C videocard at 85C. BIOS limiters won't let you burn the system unless you start playing with core voltages.

Don't forget there is powertrottle too. Also GPU throttle temp can be raised easily and you want to rise the power and temp limit when you over clock anyways. On gpu, as long as the fan curve is tuned up, you usually won't see it hit neat 85c while most of max temp can go way above 90c if oc

I've had GPU driver restarts at 100 celsius several years ago so 85-90 might be the max to go for. Depending on your setup, MSI may be the way to go. For me, I could use EVGA precision xOC for the GPU (or just tell it at the start to bump up performance to 120%) and ASUS 5-way optimization to OC the CPU. Just check your temps at each bump in speed-if things start hitting 80-90 celsius while OC'd, let it sit there and make sure it is stable because that is probably where you will sit overclocked.

Whatever you do, keep an eye on your rails from the PSU so you don't damage something due to overconsumption of power and have to RMA the PSU.

Theres nothing wrong with AI Suite
If theres individual proof that its a resource hog then thats one thing

and why the hell are you people comparing AI Suite to Afterburner? THEY DO SEPARATE THINGS

Afterburner is for the GPU ONLY
AI Suite is for the Motherboard/CPU

Like the hell guys
-

Anyway
Your motherboard has an auto overclock feature that you can access in the BIOS, since you MISTAKENLY uninstalled AI Suite.

Do some research and go from there
Thats how i overclock as well.
-

Top temps for YOUR CPU, is around 90C, but in the area of 60-70C(or lower) is where you want it to be

your GPU can handle temps up to around 92C, but ideal temps for that is around 70C or so depending on the cooling capabilities of your case and ambient room temp.

From the Asus forums:

Fresh install of Win 10 x64 with AI Suite and I've seen the same issue with the CPU spiking due to the "System" process (NT Kernel & System). After digging into the processes, the actual culprit is "acpi.sys+0x1e7f0". Thanks to Mugencow's suggestion of toggling the power options, the issue goes away. But, the issue will come back eventually when you return to the original power profile.

Ok thanks for the tip about the Ai Suite. I still havent uninstalled.
Ill try to overclock with the Ai Suite and the afterburner.
If something goes wrong with the Ai Suite ill simple unistall :)

Thank you very much for the info about the temps :)

But i dont believe the OP mentioned he was having issues with that

If the OP had issues with it i think hed have noticed it by now

THAT is my point

If it isnt causing problems then theres No reason to uninstall it

Just because someone has an issue with it doesnt mean EVERY SINGLE person will have the same problem.

The OP asked about Overclocking with AI Suite, not that it was causing problems.
CONTEXT

Can u help me with this please :)
Did u used the 5-Way Optimization of the Ai Suite for the Overcloking?

Thanks for the help :)
