heck their own local japanese modding scene were the ones that broke some serious new ground over on the LL forums with the oblivion XEO overhaul. (dont ask if you dont know).
More enemies, more weapons, more quests, maybe even better, that usual sidequests.
Community can find cut content and learn more about how game can looks before release. Also, cut content may be restored and recreated. Also, community can put more "Lore things" from Ultimania, using books, memos, dialogues and quests.
If there's will be level editor and advanced modding at all. Will be good if there will be more areas, dungeons etc. Community even can make full explorable Nifleheim continent, but that would be hard.
> Wow, great maturity lmao.........
> Everyone go see my thread...
> "My Skyrim SE > This Game" or something like that...
> Look at my Skyrim SE character, notice how she is fully dressed?
> Be mature, far out lmao...
> No, I am only 22 years of age.
I'm gonna actually treat this as a real thread and bite.
The only way a truly nude Cindy mod can become available is if there's already a female model that's "naked" in the game, or if you're able to import mesh. If you can't, then all you'll get is those crappy texture mods that make clothing "see through".
That said, the devs stated they wanted the game to be fully open to modding, so your wish might actually come true. However, they also were wary about making the game moddable for EXACTLY this reason. They don't really want people to strip their characters naked. As an author, I can actually understand their point of view. I don't want some random person writing fanfics about my characters running around being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ *ahem* "ladies/men of the night".
But they're gonna open the floodgates so *shrugs*. I'm more looking forward to how creative people can get with their mods, and curious if they're going to create a modder's kit like Bethesda does with their games.
the first one of the big japanese publishers/devs that competes for the bethesda slice of the japanese gaming market is going to be lightyears ahead of their competitors in popularity inside of a year IMHO. it's a serious culture shift for sure but the conservatism is to be scoffed at becuase of the actual-success of western "rpg" games.
look at the ridiculous success of what is arguably the most mediocre combat and quest system in an open world game (skyrim). why do people love teh f** out of it 5 years later? because of the modding scene.
finally. I understand the need to maintain the artistic integrity of a story or narrative. Most of the final fantasy games have a linear railroad style story that only solves itself in one way with minimal and uninsteresting backstory to the world and minimal replay value with newgame+ being a rare feature (FF13-3 for example) and multiple endings (FF13-2) also being a rare feature.
The exception to this is final fantasy 12. . whichi has a ridiculously complex and fleshed out backstory and world setting with a terrible and bland non-ending ending.. Therefore the story that takes place "in it" is generic enough to not matter. and a game like that would benefit greatly from mdding and lose nothing from the "story" that was told in the "main game".
finally. yeah nude mods will appear.
porn is everywhere. and even without modding support. some dedicated perverts will make it happen.
however without modding support. the professional, serious-minded and community driven modders with a large following (read: free advertising of your brand and product) will go elsewhere after playing your game for the 30-40 hours it will take to complete all of the railroad-content once.
anyways. dont know why im so triggered. :D there is really no point in arguing or discussing this on public forums with each other. its extremely unliekely these types of conversations will make their way into SE planning discussions. all we are doing is venting our frustrations/smugness/anger/happyness/etc emotions in textual format.
i dont mind though
if you want to have more textual encounters here with me.
Why? Just go play Skyrim if you want something "like" Skyrim.
Do you have source saying it'll have mod support from a devs blog or twitter or are these just rumours? It'll be very interesting if this is indeed the case.
Edit: Awesome thanks. Lets hope they come through with it. Sounds/looks very promising.

SE knows how to make awesoem combat and quest systems... they just need modders to fill in the gaps for their "stories"
won't argue there. but it needs to be done sooner than later so they can learn what modding one of their games really means and how it affects their brand.
Oh don't get me wrong, I totally agree this will be a HUGE boon to Square IF they pull it off correctly, and I'm perfectly fine with nude mods in any game (within reason of course). I was simply pointing out that I understood the devs' reservations. There aren't many people out there that would like seeing their creations be transformed into something they don't want them to be. I can safely say I think of my own characters as a part of me, and while I admit it probably isn't the healthiest stance - both mentally and creatively - I'm a bit overprotective of them. So I can see why the devs may be a bit "protective" of their characters.
Either way, it's gonna happen and I'm quite excited about it. I do love modding games (and yes, I'm still a fan of Skyrim too. As well as the other Elder Scrolls mostly due to the mod scene), so again - if Square does this right, I'm all for it.
