My unpopular opinion about Sonic Forces

I wouldn’t say that this is a complete failure, as many people like to say, but I think that this is not the worst game in the series and not the best in the series

My advantages:

• I really liked the Modern Sonic and Avatar soundtrack
• I liked the graphics and the visuals in Metropolis and Green Hill look good

My favorite OST in this game

• Virtual Reality [Supporting Me Remix]
• Enemy Territory (Westopolis Remix)
• Fading World - Imperial Tower
• Fighting Onward - Space Port
• Fist Bump
• Egg Gate
• Arsenal Pyramid - Interior
• Arsenal Pyramid
• The Light of Hope
• This Is Our World - Phase 1
• Luminous Forest
• Theme of Infinite
• Sunset Heights
• Battle with Infinite - First Bout
• Red Gate Bridge
• Battle with Mega Death Egg Robot
• Mortar Canyon
• Null Space
• Battle with Metal Sonic [US ver. Remix]
• The Light of Hope - Title Screen ver
• Theme of the Resistance - Title Screen ver.

I liked the gameplay with Wispons but only three:

• Burst Wispon
• Drill Wispon
• Void Wispon

That's where the positives end

My cons:

• I didn't like the Classic Sonic OST
• Russian localization translated from English
• English localization breaks lore and canon (This is a separate topic for discussion)
• Tails was made a coward and helpless
• The levels have become very short

If you know Japanese and English well, compare the dialogues in Sonic Forces in these languages, you will be surprised

I had a great time playing it also !

game is fast, weapons are fun, and some boss really good to fight for the first time.
(and that dual boost music hits really hard ! <3)

The problem is that at the time of the game's release, fans had too high expectations

I recently started playing Forces on Switch and I’m surprised by how much I like it. I was always told that it was terrible but I’m having fun with it. Seems like a decent sequel to Generations (which everyone loves), so I find this game’s review score to be puzzling. And I like the soundtrack also, it elevates the gameplay.

No, I enjoy it and think it got a bad rap. Sonic (3D games especially) have gotten such negative reviews over the years, it seems like people don’t question it when it happens. I know a few people personally who tried to discourage me from buying Forces and said “it’s the worst 3D Sonic game of all time” despite having never even played it before. I’m glad I didn’t listen to them because it’s really fun, actually (I own it on the Switch, btw, not on Steam).
