Can't do Triple Boost (Final Boss)

I've tried and tried, but I just can't do it with my PC keyboard. I spam the shift key, and it just doesn't work. Come to think of it, I've never ever been successful in completing any special boost move (double boost.) I don't have a controller, and I've tried re-assigning the boost key, and nothing works. I've looked at other threads with this same issue, and nothing helps. Even pressing the "insert" key doesn't work.

Have you tried spamming both shift keys?

Yes, and I figured it out like, an hour after posting this. I read other topics for help, and I realized that there is a bug in the game that changes the boost key (only when double/triple boosting) temporarily to a random key on your keyboard. Pretty much a lucky press is going to help you. It's very frustrating. In that case, the U key worked.
