Sonic Forces (Switch) Void Flying Glitch?

I recently found something as I was playing Sonic Forces. I'm afraid I don't have any proof due to being too shocked at the time to press the snapshot button (which I am kicking myself for now) and I have yet to replicate it, but I want to say what happened to see if this happened to anyone else.

On the Switch version, I was playing Null Space with a hedgehog Avatar and a Void Wispon with the Quick Get-Up ability. The alternate avatar I didn't pay attention to, but I think it was a Wolf with some Burst Wispon. After the first check point and first rail grind, I got a Void Wispon then fell into one of the flying drones. As I was falling after knockback, I tried to use the Void Wisp in a panic. Naturally it didn't send me anywhere helpful since I was too low, so I started randomly pressing buttons in hopes something would happen before I hit the kill plane. I think it was ZR + X or Y (Wispon Attack, Wisp Power, and boost respectively), then my character pointed his Wispon downwards and was surrounded by what looked like a purple bubble and started rising. I could freely maneuver, so I guided myself to the closest rail and went on to finish the stage. Sonic was stuck spinning in a ball next to me, so I think maybe something happened in the way I warped, but I don't know.

It was rather slow moving, so I doubt it has any speed run applications (especially with how ridiculous the drill Wispon is). I'll continue trying to replicate it, but if anyone has any insight/suggestions, please let me know.

There's no reason at this point to assume the glitch is Switch exclusive.

Unfortunately I lack Reddit. I may want to get an account to spread it around tho. I don't know whether it is version exclusive or not, so I wanted to see if anyone could find it on other versions.
