Stomp while air boosting

in a sonic stage. Is it bugged or what? I tried all the ways to combine them and it just wont register for me, do you need a certain height or something?

I had problems with that one as well. I think you just have to do it very quickly but holding the X button and pressing the B button at the same time is not that easy.

It just kinda worked for me one time.

it's all in the timing. had some problems with this one, but with enough pratice i got it done.

Which stage did you get it in?

I think I got it in the Metropolis level but I don't think that is important.
It starts with a 2D section though, maybe its easier there.

Jump. Boost while you're in the air. While holding the boost button, stomp.

Bam. You're done.

I got this one easy, but hilariously cannot seem to get slide right after stomping. Am I not supposed to stomp on a slope and automatically go into a slide? Because I've done that like 20 times and nothing happened.

I tried to do it by stepping on an enemy, I could do it in Mortal Canyon and I fell on an enemy and I took it. I do not know if it was for the amount of time I was using the boot and squeezed the stomp or was falling on the enemy. Mortal Canyon seems the easiest place to do it.

When in the air you just hold stomp while moving in any direction, it will auto slide on landing.

I just got the airboost one on luminous forest by doing the same thing I did in stage 1 so Im starting to think you had to be at a certain height from the ground maybe. If you tried it on a slope and it didnt work I dont know whats up, maybe the game just has some issues registring the "mission" not like its the first time that kind of thing happens in games.

Try to prepare two fingers. When you do get launched into the air, use one finger to air boost, then use another finger and tap the stomp button while still holding the boost.
