Sonic Forces Plot.

The plot is actually pretty interesting. However, it isn't exactly.. that great. It seems like it wants to be dark. But at the same time it seems like it is restraining itself. And I know why. It's because of Shadow the Hedgehog (the game). Which didn't exactly get the best response from the sonic fans. However, I believe that in Sonic Forces the plot wasn't dark enough.

Evidence #1. "Sonic being tortured"
Knuckles said that Sonic had been tortured for six months. Now, you would believe he would look roughed up and worse for wear. But no, he is just fine. Without any cuts, bruises, or even any indication of being harmed. And he is still wisecracking as always! Seriously, at least make his hair messy. Or make him sound less confident when he said that wisecrack. Being tortured for six months would do something to anything!

Evidence #2 "Where are the humans?"
Seriously, where are they. Where is G.U.N? Where are the city folk? Did anything even happen to them. Did the sonic team forget that humans existed in the Sonic world. Why isn't there anything about them fighting back the robots? Is it just me? Or did they suddenly retcon the sonic universe to have no humans? Maybe add a cutscene of the human's fighting back the robots before they captured and the egg bots do.. god knows what they do.

Evidence #3 "Tails has lost it"
He seems perfectly fine! Besides the "Sonic, help me!" It shows no indication about the loss of his sanity. It seems that he knows that sonic is dead! WHY HAS HE LOST IT? How about this. Tails refuses to believe that Sonic is dead. He goes around the world, fighting robots along the way. Trying to search for Sonic even though incredibly deep down in his heart. He knows that he's gone. Fast forward to the time where Classic Sonic is supposed to appear. The same scene happens. However, show tails fighting back. Jumping on chaos. Spin dashing. Throwing ring bombs at him! However, nothing works. As chaos just regenerates the damage. It isn't a moment that tails can't fight or outsmart his way from. He then says the line. And Classic Sonic comes out and makes chaos disappear form the ether. Tails then see's "classic sonic" and instead of just a normal hug and instead of a happy "You're Back!" He instead kneels down and cries while classic sonic comforts him. Later on, Tails shows Classic Sonic his temporary hideout (most likely underground). He then acknowledges that classic sonic isn't the Sonic he knows. However, he still asks him to help him to find Sonic and to fix E-123 Omega. Which is on the table broken. The cutscene then fades away with Tails fixing the machine while classic sonic brings him the neccesary items to do so.

Evidence #4 "Infinte's Backstory"
Ohh boy, this is gonna be controversial. Now then, I know that Sonic team knows about the fu*king influx of horrible backstories being overly edgy. However, the backstory for infinite is just.. horrible. "Wahhh, i'm not weak! WAHHHH" Seriously, do something better than that.

Are these suggestions too edgy? Are they good? Or do they sound like an edgy sonic fan's fanfiction. Do you have any better suggestions? Let me know!

I like your Tails idea about him fighting separately. GUN is most likely on another continent (I know this is unlikely, but I can go with it). Infinite has more backstory in the comics released before Forces came out. It isn’t much but it leads to a lot of interesting inferences.

"Tails has lost it" was localized incorrectly, in the japanese dialouge they said tail's whereabouts are unknown.

Mistranslation. Something similar is in Heroes at the end of the Dark story. In the English version Rouge says “Did you know Shadow is a robot?” In the Japanese version she says “Do you think Shadow is a robot?”

It should've been like SA2 where he had markings on the walls and talk about how he plans to get back at Shadow and the others for nostalgia.

The writing on the walls weren’t Sonic’s they were Gerald’s. When Amy asks if the writing was Sonic’s he says it isn’t. That jail cell is seen in Gerald’s recording of his execution in the Last Story.
