Sonic fanbase: THE WORST FANBASE

I have been a fan since the Mega-drive and master system (1991) and I've never been more ashamed of the fanbase than I am now, crying and whinging "Sonic is not good enough" hating Sonic just to get you tube views (butt hurt mario fans jump on the band wagon everytime there!)

If you've been a fan from the start or are even part of the toxicity of the fanbase, do something constructive to clear it up, and no I am not talking about the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fangames who basically just rip assets from sega claiming it's an "original" game....

Seriously look at yourselves, a majority of the time the problem has not been Sonic team or sega but a fanbase that is the very source of the problems in many years now, you would think by now they would have tried to improve their behaviour but no it goes on and Sonic or SEGA usually get a kicking when they are the one's largely not at fault, so my question is when will this rather unfortunate fanbase start clearing it's act up??

I don't want to see some comments claiming there is nothing wrong with the fans or that this is an attack on them because it's not, the good fans are out there still talking very positive over the years but there's always those who will ruin the reputations of everyone else, additionally I am pretty sick of reading and hearing whinning and crying and ridicule whenever Sonic Team tried something new and YOU "the fans" couldn't adapt or try something new which has actually caused the series to attempt to change too many times while many good ideas were lost with this, Shadow the hedgehog and Lost world had some great ideas and were highly original dispite some flaws but it wasn't "good enough" for this bunch of a sickening majority who make some other fanbases and gamers look like modern day saints compared to how I've seen Sonic fans behave over the years.

One good idea is to have people put together more ideas while stop trying to detract from the original ideas Sonic Team has put forward, Sonic Heroes 2 and maybe more riders would be an amazing start, I've considered doing something like a Sonic R remaster or a sequal to that game but due to the reactions of some fans it would probably end very bad and I really feel for the devs who tried hard to make that game and still suffer some backlash since the 90s.

I personally didn't pick Mania. Haven't played it at all. I didn' even have to look that way to know it was a game I didn't really want for now. May buy later in a heavy sale (-75% or better). As for the fanbase? Maybe if we thought about it as a single entity all moving in the same direction with the same thoughts, maybe we could say all of it is toxic. But the fanbase of this franchise (and any other) is composed of different people with varying levels and versions of commitment. Usually, there's a vocal minority (key term here) that makes the rest look either good or bad. Sadly, in most cases they look everyone else look bad.

Sonic as a franchise is also in an unique spot where it attracted the behemoth called the "Furry Fandom", which for better or worse, also modifies the identity of the Sonic fanbase as a whole. As in, we will see many OCs as much in legit clean places as you may see them landing on P*rnHub... This may sound unrelated, but it also adds heavily to the perceived toxic environment around the place.

Sure. Not every furry out there is into sex, but a way too visible portion of that community is into it, and that's what's seen the most, and others out there only see opportunities to troll what they don't understand to seek a few lulz, further adding to the toxicity.

Anyway. These are only my opinions. They are not meant to force anything into anyone. They are just my thoughts formed from what I've seen around.

You make some great points seriously, but unfortunately the reality is not like this and when these "fans" accept responsibility for their actions and ill thought process, then maybe people will stop thinking this of the players who think it's their IP and what *they* say is how sonic should be, the potentially only bad (bad in terms of glitches and unfinished content) was sonic the hedgehog (2006) the game itself would have worked fine if Sega had *MORE Time* but a release window was scheduled and shipping, production of discs and manuals all play a huge part in meeting a deadline back then.

The ungrateful ones are the same ones who live in plenty and scoff at the third world, they deserve nothing and should replace those less fortunate because society needs less of ungrateful kids, who couldn't wipe their own ass let alone create a game or highly successful franchise.

Sonic fans need to know where to admit their wrongs and stop feigning ignorance on their part, many are sadly types that have sent death threats or vile tweets etc to the development team, this is unacceptable and they never know where to draw the line.

Sonic mania is good but don't believe the hype around it, the guy that made it thinks he's some kind of 'god' now however I soon discovered *surprise surprise* this was the fans again trying to speak for a development team and he's a bit more down to earth.

Sonic fans are literally cancer these days and until they prove otherwise, they will continue to have the worst reputation in gaming followed by a few fps's, congratulations and celebrations!!

Why can't you do a basic level with an S rank? You've come here because I told you elsewhere what you said was "crazy" "impossible" or "too hard" is very achievable and with a S rank in the first try! You will have to learn that there's little excuse for whining and whinging about the game when it's YOUR dexterity that is at fault and not the game which besides level 25 is a very nice game indeed.

You have "observed" nothing, most people will breeze past where you got stuck and I don't see why you were complaining at the design of one level just because you couldn't do it.

Understand the difference to a bad level design, and you being not skilled enough to see certain prompts or being *TOO SLOW* to react, after the addition of many things from colours/Generations/unleashed you have absolutely no excuses for such a poor performance but like many, you cried about your failure to succeed in a easy level and then blame the devs for YOUR failure to progress, when many acomplished this feat very easy indeed (even first try!)

So bootlicker get out of the thread because you are another fan who refuses to accept THEIR behaviour in the 21st centuary of gaming and learning to play Sonic games properly, spoiled fans are of course the worst kind, you make demands on demands and can't seem to understand that if you want to be part of the game design, go get into the industry yourselves instead of bashing said devs over and over and trying to seem cool because "Sonic ain't good anymore!" -Massive lie!

You're judging the entirety of a group of people based on the actions of a few. I'm most certainly NOT the type of person who would give death threats to Sonic Team members, no matter how bad the games they make are. Those people are just about as much of "Sonic fans" as... I don't even know what to compare that to. They AREN'T Sonic fans, and should not be your idea of what the fanbase is, let me tell you that.
