They also hid the fact that Denuvo was there and the Sonic 1 "gift" tied Refund playtime to sonic 1 (most fans having played hundreds of hours in) and purchase date to the date you got the gift in a attempt to put all buyers outside the refund window. Steam support at least gave refunds to people who submitted a support ticket instead of trying to use the refund system.
Im glad there are some educated people here that actually look at the longterm issue with denuvo :)
Iv told people of this issue before
-It can ultimately make legit copies unplayable when Denuvo's servers go down
And i also agree with what you said that devs will likely refuse to patch out Denuvo because the game is "too old" and the legit copies would need to be cracked to run.
Some devs dont even care to fix all bugs in a game so i cant see them caring about removing drm from old games either when they would have newer games to focus on
So they said they would patch it out if Denuvo went under but they also said they make no commitment to update "OUT OF DATE" products.
