Not sure if this could effect it, but I do know of a game where this happened.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse, it's save file's were connected to whichever user made them to prevent cheating. Is it possible Forces does the same?
Could it be that the usernumber is used somewhere when the savedata.xml is created or updated to prevent use on another steam account ?
EDIT: However, in Generations you could overwrite a save file by making it a mod and loading it from the mod manager. Could the same be done here?

Even after removing your stuff & putting my savedatta back in, no saves appear. No "continue" so got to start all over again...
