Mobius vs Earth Argument
I’ve seen many people argue about what planet the games take place in, and I want to clarify this. The games take place on Earth, it is even stated to be the case in Shadow the Hedgehog and Adventure 2. The Archie Comics and SatAM are an alternate continuity that takes place in a new planet. Mobius is only canon to the comics, but the games take place on Earth.

Tbh, I don't really care if the planet is mobius or earth.

What I do care about though is if there's PEOPLE on the planet, if there's no people on the planet, then Shadow The Hedgehog's story is completely screwed.

Same. If they retcon humans out of the world, then Shadow's existence as well as other core factors in the Sonic Universe would not make sense.

They cannot retcont humans out of Sonic games. There was a human in nearly every single one of them.

You know, the big guy with a great 'stache and a master plan.

Sometimes, i even wonder (or just outright forget) that Hairy Mustache was a human. His mother must be so proud to have raised a man who wants to blow up a planet with a sun.

Eggman is Mario, and Mario is not a human: Which is canon according to some book written by Nintendo, but I can't find it because googling "Mario is not a human" just returns a bunch of people getting feminism levels of triggered by the humans in Odyssey.

Even Mario not being human is also weird, like I can get behind Princess Peach not being human as she lives in another world, but...

Isn't the backstory to Mario and Luigi that they were plumbers who got sucked from a pipe into a magical world? That might just be the cartoon, but I'm not sure what their backstory even is. Didn't they also live in brooklyn? They're totally human too if we're going off Super Mario Bros: The Movie rules.

Naah maan, humans are in a different world and Sonic can travel between these two worlds when he wants! It makes total sense!

Izuka is a mess when it comes to continuity. Even in Sonic 1 Madona (a human) was supposed to be sonic’s girlfriend. Eggman is a human. In stages like Casino Night and Starlight there are buildings in the background. I like how Ian Flynn said cities like Station Square and Westopolis are located in the continent of Empire City. Animal locations are in distant islands (South Island).

It’s sad but Izuka doesn’t even care for his own continuity (see the Wisps and everything in Lost World)

I prefer Amy as well, but the point was that humans were even part of initial concepts.
