Sonic Forces Story RANT (SPOILERS) INCLUDES TL:DR

Ugh, so, Sonic Forces, I have been really hyped for this game, but what I was mostly interested for was the story and it was really not that good, actually it has so many problems, where do I even begin.
So, everything starts with Sonic being beaten by Infinite. With Sonic defeated Eggman takes over the world because Sonic's friends can't do #### to stop Eggman. And you know, this really sux because it makes every other character in the game besides Sonic and Infinite feel like a weakling even if a lot of them can keep up with Sonic in strenght.
Anyway, after Sonic gets defeated, you get to see what happens 6 monts after, when dr Eggman conquered 99.9% of the world. Somehow The Resistance finds out that Sonic is alive and guess who they send to rescue him. The Custom Character which was the most inexperienced out of them ALL! They we're all aware of this, specially Knuckles which calls him ROOKIE. This was literallly one of the most important things they had to do and they send rookie instead of someone with actual fighting knowledge like Knuckels, yeah, very smart. And also, how the F they find out about Sonic being alive 6 months after, have they even tried to rescue him in that time. Not only that this makes them look dumb but also LAZY.
Even if you find out that Sonic was tortured, he looks perfectly fine, they didn't even tried to make him look like he was even slightly phisically or mentally damaged. He of course gets saved and return to his Planet with the avatar
We also get to see what happened with Tails in a cutscene which I think represent an event which happens between Sonic's defeat and 6 months after. So, tails gets saved by Classic Sonic because he is too scared to fight Chaos 0. Classic Sonic got teleported from his dimension to Modern Sonic's because of the Phantom Ruby. What i hate about this scene is how much of a ♥♥♥♥♥ Tails is, he even says "Sonic, save me!" even if Sonic was gone because LOGIC. We also see tails trying to repair Omega and I guess he repairs him since he also suddenly appears at the end of the game DONIG NOTHING! What i don't understand is what was Omega doing between the moment he got repaired and the end of the game, we don't see him continuing his journey with tails and Classic Sonic, just randomly coming out of nowhere at the end. This is a PLOT HOLE!

Tails also talks about Eggman's plan which will destroy all of the resistance in 3 days and judging by the events, it looks like him plan was to burn the planet wit a star created by Infinite. This is really BEYOND STUPID because he would have also destroyed the entire Planet too and also killed himself, because just before the star was about to hit the planet he was still staying there like a complete imbecile but luckily the avatar saves everyone in the last second
Then Sonic and the avatar managed to defeated Infinite because HE WAS TOO DUMB TO KILL THEM WHEN HE HAD THE CHANCE and then you fight the Final Boss which is a robot controlled by Dr Eggman with the power source being the Phantom Ruby


NOW, for Episode Shadow.
Well, we get to see Infinite's backstory, he is just a whiny crybaby which decides to become more powerful because Shadow beats him and calls him pathetic. Is this even a backstory, Infinite is just a bad character which was over-hyped and got a good vocal theme which is actually too good for him Also, what was Shadow doing in those 6 months after Sonic got defeated, well, we never get to find out, another plot hole I guess.



TL:DR : The story is kinda messy because of plot holes, it makes way too many characters
seem dumb and Infinite has an awful backstory. I'm really dissapointed

The comic explains a bit more about Infinite before Episode Shadow. It hints that he”s always hated the world and gets what he wants by force. It’s not much but it adds something. Tails being a coward was the only thing that really didn’t fit at all.

During the mission they do mention that the chaotic are somewhere on the death egg.

Yeah, I got the impression they sent many people to try and rescue Sonic, and the Avatar just happened to be the one to find him.

I mean, I have no desire to defend Forces' story - the entire thing is basically a case study on missed opportunities and disappointment - but come on, stick to the real issues.
