Sonic Forces: Speed Battle
That awkward moment when the mobile game is more fun, and has more longevity, than the game it was created to promote...

Ads are annoying, though

Replayability, unless you have 100% in Forces in under 3 hours you cant really call it short. Unless you meant to say that the story is short, then id agree.

Yeah, I'm at 18h and I'm still missing 10 achievements. To be fair, 3 of those are pretty grindy.

For me they kinda ruined the fun in Speed Battle when they made all the chests take like twice as long to open, lowered the ranks of all players again, lowered the rewards you get for a win, and increased the mandatory ads.

Game sucks, ads are way too long, and can't be skipped. Sonic Dash didn't have this garbage...

I think the mandatory ones can be skipped after like 5-10s.

Well, I've played around 15 matches, and each ad was unskippable. They were 30 seconds long, and they really started going on my nerves.

Are you being serious? the game is awful and I think it would have been better if they added an offline mode.

That doesn't sound right. The whole point is that you're supposed to get extra rewards if you watch an ad the whole way through. (i.e. Double XP if you choose to watch an ad after opening a match-chest) Otherwise the ad is supposed to be skip-able after about 3 seconds.

Admittedly: The ads don't bother me that much because I play on an emulator, so I just tab out for a few seconds while I wait.

You remove all none Sega ads after making your first Purchase but that doesn't guarantee you still won't get spammed with adverts in between each match though.

Wish Sonic Dash 1 and 2 purchasing items more or less eliminated the ads for me but with this game I'm being spammed constantly and because of that it puts me off the game.

Not for me, I get ads for some stupid poker and puzzle game, and skip button is nowhere to be seen. Not even pressing the "back" button on my phone works.

So why can mobile developers get away with this junk when on PC one would shoot it down with anti-spyware software (or even in the most egregious cases antivirus aoftware)?

I'd think that using 3rd party software to get around ads (Ads that frequently give the player free XP/In-Game Currency, and accelerate timers) would result in a ban. Especially if it allowed you to skip the 30 second wait, because that would be an unfair advantage from other players.

That doesn't answer my question as to why adware is so acceptable in mobile while not so much on PC.
