Classic Sonic's Speed Limit (not sure if bug)
So, I'm playing Chemical Plant/Classic Sonic here, and I run to the right all the way down the incline - you know, like in the other classic zones... he hits his horizontal speed cap during the downward incline and... you'll see. I don't release "right" until after the upward incline/ramp.

Just wondering if this is supposed to work this way, because... it's not very Sonicy.

That's merely the physics of the game; they are not made very well in a way that fits this sort of gameplay.

I believed he had a speed cap in Sonic 1 so theres that. But that was just to prevent him from glitching into stuff.

Probably the same thing is going on here, which is weird if you think about it. Because the platforms sonic stands on are pretty big in comparison to his size.

Basically, its just part of the physics

He did have a speed cap when running in older games. This speed cap could be bypassed by pressing down, which would curl you up into a ball. The same applies in this game.

It's clearly different if you can't even do a "warped wall" with *downhill* momentum. I understand that the speed cap applied to horizontal momentum-building, but going downhill allowed for a little more speed - that's the whole idea of Classic Sonic halfpipes - you could build momentum with those and inclines.

I'm not debating on whether said speed cap should exist - but why is it being applied equally to a downward slope; *and* to a point where it doesn't even navigate the terrain?
