Getting S Rank a little confused
So been trying to S rank everything and i feel like i am missing something because...
Checking Youtube to see what others are doing i foten
1: have a better time
2: get hit less if at all
3: have more rings at the end

Yet they get S rank and i cant seem to get past A is there something i am missing? what the heck even determins the rank i get that things tie into the score but it just feels really weird that you can do BETTER then someone else yet only get an A yet someone else who takes long, and has less rings at the end gets an S...

Like the game so far this is really the first time since i played it i am scratching my head.

Speed and ring count are indeed factors in determining your rank, but collectibles, destroyed enemies, and perfect quicktime events are also quite important for your score. The goal is to do as much in the level as you can in the shortest amount of time. The trick is figuring out how much you can get away with while you rush through.

Daily bonus also helps.

yea its not like i'm missing stuff it seems so random, got the S rank just now, but i did WORSE then previous runs... got hit near the end, lost all my rings save 2, still finished about the same time, and got an S it feels wonky...

You may have slipped up with the rings, but you probably did well with everything else.

Rings, no dying, time bonus, rainbow rings, basically anything you can collect (red star rings, numbered rings, silver moon rings) all give you point.

If you have trouble getting S-Ranks you can wait for the daily score bonus (goes to up to 3x).

So don't die, try not to get hit and defeat enemies and the S-Ranks shouldn't be too hard.

Zero retries is Essential. sometimes to get an S Rank you need to do almost World Record speedruns (Space port is an Example, sometimes i do 1:40 and still get only an A). also... kill every ennemy you find, that will help a lot.

i recommend an Affixed Drill Wispon that lets you get speed while you land and grind. using it correctly will most surely put you at least on the top 1000 of any stage. but be carefull, if you go too fast in some stages, some homing attack parts will not appear making you fall to your doom.
