I heard you can rip your Avatar's model from the game files

According to the comments, your entire avatar can't be ripped, but you can rip the individual items and body parts. Once you have those, you may assemble them in a 3D modeling program like Blender or Maya.

Not quite sure about rigging, though.

Rigging is the easiest thing in the world to do. Adobe Mixamo is there for it to facilitate even more your life if you don't have much experience on 3D modeling :) . you just need to rig the tail if it is a Cat or Bird for example.

I don't actually know. I think the game just chooses random Avatars from other players, or is at least SUPPOSED to.
I mean I keep getting the same bunch of birds, wolves, hedgehogs, cats and dogs who all look like they literally only just created their Avatars and haven't even done Spaceport yet.

exaclty. i don't know either. and they are the same avatars. not that this is bad sometimes tho. yours,Suké and Icy-Nee-san ones are well designed. but there are some that... well... are strange... to say the least. i'd wish more variety or to rate the ones that are created good or to have the Game Refresh more the creations if it is random so we could get diversified avatars.

Mixamo is too messy. rigging isnt easy at all manually. I know from experience
