After I see the Sonic Team logo, I get stuck at a black screen.
Title says it all. Once the Sonic Team logo disappears I get a black screen and nothing else.

EDIT: I mashed the keyboard until it did something, I have reached "Some features are not available without a network connection", where the game is now Not Responding.

EDIT 2: I had to reboot the game, it is now stuck at the original black screen.

It takes a while to load wait a while and check here again if it doesn’t work

I heard that there are specific tests a game has to go through before it's approved for sale, one of which being "The screen cannot be blank for more than X amount of time".

If every single time I start up the game, I have to wait 5-10 minutes to get to the main menu, there is no way that's acceptable.

Oh, I only have to wait 20 at most seconds

Update: Just got past the "some features require network connection" message, only to hit another Not Responding.

It might be your computer or internet connection

Are you using a traditional HDD, and if so have you defragmented? The game is 18GB in size.

I’m not very good with computer specs, but I’m using a computer not a laptop

As I already asked, do you have a hard drive or a SSD? If it is a hard drive you may be suffering from file fragmentation, and using "Defragment and Optimize Drives" or a third party defrag solution may help improve your loading times considerably.
