BTA 3062 mod doesnt have the full galaxy map

i started playing the mod in question thinking nothing was wrong only to see my friend streaming his game and having a full galaxy map to explore while i only have a small rectangular area. ive been searching for an answer to this, clearly i messed up somehow but can seem to find the reasoning for it. so how do i get the full galaxy map. thanks

i literally figured it out after 2 minutes of posting this so if anyone else is a dumb as me all you have to do is enable clan expansion in the BTA launcher options.
