What happens if you advance time for, say, a week or two? IIRC, the contract-generation-mechanic "refreshes" after some time.
Are you playing with any mods?
I've just sat and forwarded time for a couple months in the same system as well, with no luck.
I went back to an older save before I even took the mission, redid it, and same results - no missions anywhere. It's the bit where Farah is supposed to decrypt the thingy, but apparently it never happens. It's a new game since the DLC came out. No issues like this before in the first campaign.
I'm just trying to fly from system to system here, but no good so far. The save seems to be buggered or something... not sure how keen I am to restart and end up with the same thing again... so hoping to figure out what's going on.
UPD: Also i've noticed that even tho you spend a lot of time wondering around - no pop-up stuff occurs
Remove mods.
Verify the files via steam.
Re-start the game.
Move to another system.
Doing this has resulted in people seeing randomly generated missions again.
Happening to me on day #1 of new games.
I did re-validate files (GOG version) and I saw a single contract pop up at one place in the new game, so maybe it's ok now?
I had the same issue as another person here too - no events or anything pop up when you travel or pass time. (I passed a total of nearly 1 year flying around systems and didn't have a single random event either)
So far re-validating files has fixed it. So if anyone else has the issue, that may help. Still a rather annoying thing.
