Endless loading screens

Whenever I try to load a current campaign or start a new one I'm confronted with an endless loading screen. I tried verifying my game cache but that did not remedy the problem. Any ideas?

I started having constant crashes and loading hangs after the 1.6.1 update - paradox support at this point is thinking its something to do with a conflict of the AMD drivers. Yup. Would love the game to work.

If you have edited any of the files, or are running any mods, that can cause problems like that, but verifying files should fix that.
So I dunno? Full reinstall?

We were warned (if I remember right) that it could break old saves.

AMD machine here and since the patch my save games load up to a frozen screen. I've found that using the task manager to quit (as there is no other way) and simply trying again until it works , makes it work.

You have to run the game as admin had the same thing happen to me.

I know we were warned of old saves breaking but this is also happening when starting a new campaign.

Running in admin did NOT work for me.

I also have this issue, but only for some missions. They will load forever, i even waited half an hour once.

It is not gamebreaking for me, since it saves before the mission, but annoying that some missions are just not available.
