In vanilla anyway, Escape should be reliably beatable. It does have a higher failure rate then most because you're given a fixed hand, though I've never lost the actual mission over multiple playthroughs. IIRC failing the mission will force a reload or, in the case of Ironman, end the campaign run.
1) modtek
and since OP mentioned the storyline mission "escape" which is defeating every single enemy mechs which comes in waves
and that you have 4 star league mechs
which are
a) Atlas AS7-D-HT
b) Highlander HGN-732B
c) Black Knight BL-6B-KNT
d) Griffin GRF-4N
the first wave of enemy mechs are light mechs, use melee assault on them by using atlas, highlander and black knight and griffin.
do not trigger the 2nd wave of enemy mechs while fighting the light mechs or else you will be facing front and rear assaults.
the 3 pilots piloting black knight, highlander and atlas have bulwark.
-----------------------------------------
best strategy is to let enemy mechs come to you instead of you going to them
i) Generally try to tank and spank, given all the pilots except Reynard has Bulwark, you want to take advantage of this as much as possible. Assault Mechs has terrible evasions anyway even after long distance sprinting so it is best to just stand your ground and take advantage of the Bulwark ability, except for the Griffin which you probably want to keep far back. Let enemies come to you rather than going charging into enemy fire.
ii) Note that in addition to Multi-Target, Breaching Shot, and Sensor Lock, Kamea has a hidden Bulwark ability, making her a highly versatile asset.

No....
Modtek didn't change any of this that's not how modtek works.
As others have said here, modtek is a mod loader. It only deals with:
- updating the game manifest for new items
- updating/merging/replacing existing items
- loading and initializing DLL mods.
- providing utilities for mods like an injection framework and logging utilities.
On its own, modtek will only cause 3
user noticable effects:
- adding a loading bar/screen to the game startup.
- adding some text to title screen of the game to let you know what version of modtek is in use
- adding some numbers to the loading screens between save loading and mission loads.
What you actually mean to say is:
One of the mods you installed that requires modtek to load made changes that you don't like and are finding it difficult to complete this mission.
But without telling us what mod(s) you've installed we can't provide any advice
You have yet to specify which mod you have. Don't make people guess.
That said, with this mission, the objective is not to kill all the opposition. You need to ensure that Kamea reaches the evacuation zone, and that everybody else either reaches it or ejects.
Your initial post was not, but this sure looks like a complaint to me...
no one can help him at all.

asking for help, yet refuses to provide the required information that was being asked by "Jamie Wolf".
i fully 100000000% agree "Jamie Wolf" post.
https://github.com/BattletechModders/ModTek
it is written that
1) ModTek is a mod-loader for HBS's BattleTech PC game. It allows modders to create self-contained mods that do not over-write game files. ModTek is run at game startup and dynamically loads mods that conform to the mod.json format. Mod dependencies are resolved and load order enforced without needing to edit the VersionManifest.csv.
Since BattleTech 1.7, HBS introduced their own mod-loader, which is based on an older ModTek version. It is missing many features of newer ModTek versions, including DLC support.
from here
https://github.com/BattletechModders/ModTek/releases
is the latest modtek version for this game
-----------------------------------------------------
OP install modtek, yet he never bother to read thoroughly what is modtek for.
so i'm posting the information about it which includes links to it.
-----------------------------------------------
if even after he reads what is modtek for and yet still insists that modtek is the cause of it
then the only answer that can be given is this
a) remove modtek completely and play the battletech campaign mode from scratch
any save games that he have which requires modtek can't be played anymore.

Sorry for the confusion all.
It's called Metagaming.
You've played the mission and lost so you know not only roughly what forces you will face but where and when they will appear on the map. You also know that getting to the evac zone is not actually the goal because that dropship gets blown up.
So to beat the mission you fight the first two waves up against the doors to the Star League Base. Once they are defeated you send your fastest mech towards the "rescue point" while you send your slower heavies in the other direction towards the secondary pickup zone. Make sure you do not trigger the dropship getting blown up sequence until AFTER your heavies are near that point and behind where the final wave will appear. If engaging those enemies goes badly just have Kamea step into the evac zone. Boom, mission defeated.
Is it cheap? Sure, but you get past the mission and a nice shiny Atlas for your trouble
Is this the full list?
This looks like a small part of BTAU. which would either imply your using BTAU (or BTA-Light) or you've only taken parts of BTA, in which case I'm amazed the game is even booting for you
