MECH COMMANDER?!
One can only dream one day a 3rd one will happen. Was literally my favorite game of this franchise world.

its possible but not probable.

There was a semi-conversion mod for MW5Mercs that remade much of the gameplay in the MechCommander way. I assume something similar may be in the works for the Clans release too.

I think most people here would agree that a MC3 game would be desireable, but in reckognition of the whole situation and IP shennanigans, I guess the majority has little hope of it coming true in the near future.

I mean, if Microsoft would actually put some attention to the IP they got there and how to turn it profitable, they might ponder a ressurection of the IP, not sure about the actual numbers for the original games in regards of "profit", but I am confident that, while the BT universe in itself is rather niche, it generaly offers alot of opportunity for interesting story drives, and anyways, a good strategy/tactical RTS game revolving around big stompy robots has alot of appeal in itself.

If I was to put money on Microsoft resurrecting any of the FASA IP's I'd put it on Crimson Skies, mainly cause that has done supposedly quite well on their games pass.

Well, then we might perhaps hope for them losing interest in the BT IP so far as they offer it to some competent indy dev for a reasonable price, like enabling a kickstarter, who knows, worked one time already. :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Now that I think about it, kinda strange that as someone who has been interested in games made by FASA and flight games (both sim and arcade)for decades. I have never checked out the Crimson Skies games. May try them out sometime later.

Interestingly, this (and a couple runs in the Battletech Center sim pods) is the only digital Battletech game I've played, even though I've played the boardgame since 1987.

Not a big fan of first-person/cockpit games (like the Mechwarrior ones), and I don't think I had PC access back when MC1 & 2 were out. Looked at a couple Let's Play vids when people talked about the games here in 2018, and I don't think I'd have liked them. Not big on RTS gameplay, especially faster-paced (I played a couple Warcrafts, Starcraft, and Total Annihilation a bit, but always on Very Slow.)

A new Crimson Skies could be interesting, depending on it's style (flight sim, or top-down, or. . .?). And I seriously doubt I'll ever see a Renegade Legion or Earthdawn game. :D

The first game was made by the same people who made Mechwarrior 3 and while overall a decent game it isn't exactly the most stable game out there. The flight model in it can best be described as interesting as in that there are definitely physics that you'd get in a flight simulator but you have so much thrust you can power your way through said laws of physics.
The second game is a lot more open and frankly more interesting even if it goes all arcade.

RENEGADE: Centurion! Grav-tanks the size of half-city blocks firing 120mm railgun polymer projectiles and thousand giga-joule lasers dammit. >:(

I know that has a net negative chance of ever happening, but I have all of FASA's "Renegade" boxed sets (Centurion, Legion, Interceptor and Leviathan) staring at me from my gaming shelf.
