Base game mechanics but with more mechs and weapons*, full inner sphere map that changes over time and includes the Clan Invasion in 3050.
(* not as many weapons as Roguetech, mind you).
- Battletech Advanced 3062
More game mechanics, like needing to use light mechs as scouts even into the endgame, full IS map, more mechs, more weapons, but no timeline.
BTA and BTA lite are great mods
If I think lore is more important I would be reading a BT novel, not playing a video game.
Most mods nerf the OP stuff like precision shot and give the AI a more equal footing, xai is hardly unique in that, and more or less uses the work other mods did to accomplish that.
As for the lore breaking nature of xai, agree to disagree, but no need to be disrespectful to me and tell me not to play.
For me XAI and Hyades Rim are the only overhaul mod that I consider good because they don't force you to add 40 gb of junk to play it.
I read your last part of reading a book instead of playing the game as a slight. If that's not how you intended it, then I apologize. Trust me, I'm not crapping on xai, merely giving my critique of its changes. If I wanted to crap on it I have a lot I could say about the mod and it's creator, that I'm not. We both can agree at least that hyades rim is good.
Have fun playing, I already got over one hundred hours of fun playing BTA 3062.
