Also if you equip it with Small Coil weapons ( Support ) it should be fairly lethal since it is fast
Yes I believe you are correct - it is hard to hit with a melee attack
Well by the original rules/lore customization was rare, there was none of the mech lab style stuff. So a lot of the "worst" mechs were the worst available, but due to their niche nature were still available as the best had suffered a lot of attrition during the wars.
So a lot of situational mechs wound up being front line mechs (like both the firestarter and vulcan which were often supplementary units rather than core line mechs... meaning they were added to the command lance as an extra unit for tactical purposes)
What the stock model looks like - lore wise - is a mech that fulfills the role of both urban warfare ("...designed as an anti-infantry 'Mech in 2775 during the closing years of the Amaris Civil War") and anti-air, sort of an urban variant of the Blackjack.
Like a lot of mechs that use MGs, as the current version of this game stands, they are kind of useless from a cost/benefit standpoint. I just cored a J-mech in the first round by touching off its AC/2 ammo, and I've done similar to heavies with MGs, like the stock T-bolt. So to put both on a medium? Say hello to the scrap yard, especially in low skull missions where you're meeting enemies with the shoddy debuff.
However, what it does look like is in the role of light mech hunter or recon - its about as fast as a Commando or Jav - but with a better jump range than the Jenner. Depending on its hardpoints, you could make a pretty effective hunter/killer, so long as you punch under your weight class.
(or maybe they're doing a run-up to introducing infantry?)
And yah infantry would be cool as Urbies in silly hats, but I doubt we will ever see it unless they do a Battletech 2.
Small: 2 tons, 4 slots, 15 damage per evasion (SUPPORT WEAPON)
Medium: 3 tons, 6 slots, 25 damage per evasion
Large: 4 tons, 8 slots, 35 damage per evasion
All versions have heat equal to half the damage.
With a good pilot 6 chevrons evasion that would be 90pts damage each (plus extra range ) 180 damage - yes 90 heat so run away and cool before firing again?
sure, until it fails you anyway and the thing gets pounded into the dirt in one hit by a banshee or something.

Destroyed an enemy 'Mech with Death from Above using an UrbanMech
Don't ignore the little guys
If your getting hit by a banshee in melee with a Medium Brawler your doing it wrong.. You need to use your pilots with MOVE after attack. A melee medium can get two hits on a banshee and get away with out any worry of attack.
