How to find a Firestarter ?

Hi,

After I got the Argo, I travel thru different systems and solve over 20 contracts from one skull up to two and half skull contracts, I saw every light mech on the enemy side, but I can‘t find a firestarter in action or to buy as salvage.

So my question is, is there a special kind of contract or special star system where I could find one ?

I usually run into them on base defense missions and I HATE them with a passion.

Ok, do you remember how many skulls the defense missions have ? And maybe special environment ? artic, desert ...

1.5 Skulls I think, and it was a hot environment.

Granted, it might have been the RNG simply hating me, but I was early enough in the game most of the baddies were light mocha with an occasional medium.

Yeah, I feel like I run into them on desert missions a lot. Just to rub it in, right? :D But maybe that's just skewed perception...

You can find them in my games - I can't stop running into the litte flamers. They should begin appearing while you have the option to go on the Argo salvage mission. Instead of going there, I'm usually farming for mediums so I'll have a full lance of them to deal with that mission. In three playthroughs, I've never failed to nab a Firestarter for Dekker during that process.

If you just can't seem to get one, don't despair. It doesn't have a whole lot of game utility for long unless you really want to run light. The later Grasshopper is a much better close range specialist as it can take hits from elite pilots who almost never miss.

i ran into a firestarter on a half skull mission before the the get the Argo mission.

iv ran into the odd 1 in 3skull+ missions followed by bombarding it from exsistance

Honestly it sounds like poor luck. After all everything is pretty much random. Although you will find them grouped up with other mechs in the 20-65 ton range.

I have noticed that many people had more luck running into various models than I did. Most likely you are probably seeing a higher amounts of other mechs in the 30-40 range.

they really pop up on 1-3 skull missions with being really rare at 3 skull, you find that mech on the battlefield and you want it, try to take out the legs so you can get the most salvage chances.

Be afraid of them, be very afraid- then they show up a lot :P

Today I found a salvage part of a Firestarter at store.
I think it depends mostly on RNG
