Set higher priority for mech parts over all other crap in random loot after mission!!!
The title says it all. I just spent 1.5 hours (!) getting the number of mech parts I need, most of the time I got 4 out of 17 in a mission salvage, with 3 guaranteed, so its just 1 mech part from 14 possible loot options... WTF???

This game is great, but this aftermission RNG ruins all the fun. I mean it, guys, at least 20% of time ingame is fighting RNG, I dont like it, and I bet alot of people feel the same. Make this change a priority in your next patches, gods of gaming will bless you.

I think the amount of salvage you get depends on how much you thrashed that enemy mech. If you blow it to pieces, you're not gonna get much salvage from it.

Dear friend, please read carefully! I`m talking about the after mission salvage, when loot is already prioritized. I have 17 mech parts in that one mission, and random loot assigns me only 1-2 parts from a pool of 17 parts. That one thing simply freaks me out.

At the end of a normal mission against ~two lances, you'll have like 70-80 pieces of salvage to select from, including MLs, heat sinks, ammo and what-not. With the random portion of your salvage allocation being, well, random, it is perfectly normal to land with more scrap than mech parts, considering you have taken some mech parts initially, and the number of mech parts is diminutive compared to the rest of the trash salvage.

So, that's basic probability for you.

Like I said, its not something to deal with. At least not for a completitionist like me. I want to get at least 50% of mech parts each time after mission. Maybe there is a mod that alters that?

personally I took the attitude the local government wanted mechs as well so they would take mech parts as salvage as a priority.

...Yeh I think you're misisng the point of random rewards - you'll get heat sinks as easily as salvage

If you WANT salvage you have to select it as a reward, if you want to select MORE choice picks on salvage you take less C-bills thats the trade off, if theres that many salvage parts theres likely lots of other things in the pool so the RNG will decide and the RNG cares not if that's the final part you need to finish frankenmech or a heat sink it's the same in it's eyes

I can't see that changing and any mod would tip the balance so, I wouldn't want it

Yeah, I thought people wont understand or just pretend it ok. My idea stands - make a minimal amount of random salvage of mech parts of at least of 50% of available pool. Maybe its just me getting TOO tired after almost 2 hours of fighting it, but hey, its not. You fight hard and you get only 1 part from 17? From a pool of 60 total items? Isnt it a bit too much? I think it is.

And what really sucks is getting time wasted on it. Its a game, it should give more joy in less time, wasting time for loading screens is not what I want, eventually it will lead me to drop the game, which I dont want to do. So game brings me sadness.

All in all it should be AT LEAST a configureable option. So people like me can get what we want. End of line.

Then whats the incentive to max out picking slavage, you'll get mechs too easy, so you may as well only take 1 or at most 2
Werecat101 Jun 18, 2018 @ 1:21pm
well when I set the rewards to full salvage I got 4 or 5 mech parts salvage every battle out of 22 parts salvage and I was picking all the ++ weapons at that point rather than 55 ton mech parts. so I think the game has a fair balance.

Same here, I always set reward at full salvage, in most cases that the best payment option. Well, its all about playstyle, I prefer to get all the mechs I can.

Its not about mechs really, but to get max out of situation.

While I'm not sold on the whole looting mechanic in this game, its RNG can be somewhat managed to maximize the odds of receiving mech scrap.

Simply blow off as many arms/side torso as possible, to reduce scrap equipment drops, and incapacitate with headshots or knockdown damage to increase available mech parts.

The tedium of it is silly though; better to simply core every mech you face, and do more missions to offset the reduced loot roll chances.
You'll get more guaranteed loot picks, it'll be much safer for your own mechs/pilots, and you'll accrue more money/XP to boot.

And when you get like 5 mechs per mission the economy is even less challenging. Sell 4 keep 1 and you will have 20 million cbills by day 50.

Well... I always drop mechs this way, mate. I get about 17-20 mech parts from 40-60 loot items, its about 30% of available salvage. Still the random loot assignment it somewhat unfair regarding mech parts, you`ll get LESS chance at mech part than in ammo or other crap.

At least it should be an option, to set higher chances for getting mech parts on AFTER mission screen, not DURING mission.

Well... maybe, who cares? Its not Dark Souls to suffer on every corner.

yeah I got to be a "used mech salesman" and I have 50 million in my bank, 1 of every mech available in the normal game in storage, and heaps of parts waiting to be completed so that I can sell the mechs.
