White Screen
It happening to anybody else? just randomly through the game, usually when enemies start their turn the screen "background" battle view, goes white for a few moments with little graphic artifact squiggles. And on the ship i cant see Anything, all the background is white out, but the UI is fine, if i minimize the UI it shows a brief second, but then back to all white.

Happening here as well.

found what seems like a fix, changing the enhanced UI option off seems to work, had to switch between menus a couple times, but then it cleared up enough to start working.

hmmm this didnt work for me but reducing the screen resolution did work. dosnt look as crisp but no more white screens.

yeah, menu stopped working for me and had to go with resolution. hope they get it fixed soon!

Happened too me to when playing at 2560x1440, had to lower the resolution to 1920x1080.

1920x1080 is the normal resolution i use and have the issue to something of 1600 900 or whatever. even still it buggers up on missions, entire background whites out when over some areas of terrain.

Yes. I'm running 1920x1080 and get it during battle (usually when zooming in). It's worse onboard the ship when menus such as the Mech Bay white out. Its really ruining game play, they need to fix this quick!

Yes the white screen with static pixels are a big problem here, flashes up when they are in conversation or between turns, highly annoying and needs fixing. turned off dynamic camera and others settings to no avail.

I also have this problem. As others have noted, the workaround for me was to reduce resolution.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed in the recent patch?

Jgalaxy: Oh never thought about changing resolution. That seem to have done the trick for me. Cheers!

This is still a game breaking problem, while in the most part you can still play the game, the white screen (with static pixels) ruin the experience because it comes on in cut scenes, conversations windows, even if you pan around the battle map it will appear over buildings or if you pan away from your mechs.
I play in 4K on a 980TI at 3840x2160 resolution, even reducing it to 1920x1080 it does not cure the white screen graphical issue, i even tried the windowless fullscreen edit and still does not fix.

Can the Devs look into this as it game ruining experience and i am awfully suprised this did not get picked up in QA testing considering how common the fault is.

I'm posting again since I think I finally found the cause of this problem! ;)

Although you can sometimes avoid the issue by lowering the resolution, this was not ideal as the game looks much better on native resolution, therefore I had been looking into what other people were doing to sort it, and realised that although the exact solutions changed from case to case, the common thread was that some other program that had screen overlay features was interfering with the game and causing the white screen to appear.

So if you want to track the program causing the problem I would suggest opening the game, setting the resolution to the one causing the white screen, and then alt+tabbing and closing one by one programs running from the quick launch bar (the one with the small icons on the taskbar), till closing one of them sorts the issue. If that doesn't find the problematic program you could go to the task manager and close more processes from there that perhaps didn't appear on the quick launch bar.

In my case it was a program bundled with my motherboard called 'msi nahimic' that made notifications appear on screen, that probably wasn't terribly well coded or updated, and therefore was interfering with the game. But other people had problems with mumble for example, others even with the steam overlay itself, so if everything else fails try disabling it.

Anyway, I'm really happy to finally have found the solution to this issue since it has plagued many other unity games, so hope this information helps others too! ;)

For me it was not Steam Overlay or Geforce Experience overlay or playing in 3480x2160 in 4K or having to drop the resolution, it turned out to be a little Republic of Gamers (Asus) sound app called Sound Studio which was causing the problem of white screen.
JGalaxy May 16, 2018 @ 3:38pm
Nahimic is also a sound related app, as is mumble... I wonder if maybe *that* is the link... :P

@JGalaxy - M8 your info about the problem being related to audio software was spot on. I've look for the solution for about a month after the release of the game and never found nothing. I've been in contact with Paradox support, and nothing again. I've reinstall video drivers loads of times, and again nothing. Until I found your comment about the Audio. In my case was Asus Sonic Sound Studio and Sonic Radar. I've unistall both and now I have no more white screens/panels.
TY very much. :steamhappy: :steamhappy: :steamhappy:
