it uses a ballistic slot because a lot of the energy based weapons in warhammer look like cannons also i wanted something to fill the gap between laser weapons and UACs been playing around with different damage settings with the AOE capable either true or false if its on true lets say i aim for the leg and hit it some of the damage if it doesnt destroy the leg outright will be transferred towards the closet arm middle and upper torso section it kind of spreads the 160 damage over 3-4 different sections of the mech closest to the impact area instead of destroying it outright and transfering rest of damage to c torso kinda torn between aoe on or off
