Which of course is part of the problem, people coming here with mod questions better asked in their respective discords. However, OP didn't mention mods, so a vanilla assumption is what I'd go with as well. But yeah, I also question if some people who comment have actually even played the game.
And I suggest you to read my first comment more carefully.
It's a turn-based game. They tend to become rather less fun for most people when the game doesn't have any consequences for a mistake because you can just reload a save from the start of the turn. It completely removes the risk assessment portion of the gameplay formula that turn-based tactics games rely on, and removes the 'challenge' aspect entirely.
If you want a puzzle game, go play a puzzle game.
I recommend he just use the hotkey alt-F4 to autosave...
