it also auto saves after each real event

And, just to add to the above answers - don't rely on autosave in any game.

Pfff so there is really no auto save or quick save in the game... This will just change a fun game into a well more annoying game.
Thank you for the answer.

ok can I suggest you read my reply the game does auto save after every event, pre and post combat after every event such as the financial phase.

As mentioned, yes there's an autosave. You (generally) should never rely on autosaves in any game though, and manual save when you want.

yes you can, I really am beginning to doubt if some of the people making posts to answer and making threads on this forum actually own the game!.

You can in Vanilla. You cannot with some mods (like BTA3062).

Which of course is part of the problem, people coming here with mod questions better asked in their respective discords. However, OP didn't mention mods, so a vanilla assumption is what I'd go with as well. But yeah, I also question if some people who comment have actually even played the game.

There is no autosave each turn. That would be ridiculous. There is an autosave before dropping for a mission, and directly after each mission. Also, there's an autosave when you arrive at a new planet (I think), and probably at other times. I don't know all of the circumstances under which an autosave is made (there are a lot of them), because I don't rely on autosaves in any game - because autosaves are unreliable in general (not a Battletech thing)

Is the OP seriously complaining that the game doesn't hold your hand and make it extremely easy to savescum?

It's a turn-based game. They tend to become rather less fun for most people when the game doesn't have any consequences for a mistake because you can just reload a save from the start of the turn. It completely removes the risk assessment portion of the gameplay formula that turn-based tactics games rely on, and removes the 'challenge' aspect entirely.
If you want a puzzle game, go play a puzzle game.

Auto saves would also significantly impact performance. In a game where people already complain about performance (I don't personally experience said performance issues, but enough people report them for me to find it credible). Save serialization/deserialization is one of the most process intensive things the game does

I recommend he just use the hotkey alt-F4 to autosave...
