Eliminating 1200 Turn Career
Is there anything about turing off the day limit in career to see how long u can go before your career ends in death or lack of funds

You can keep playing past the 1200 days. It just stops adding to the Career score.

(and by the time you hit 1200 days, you should be so totally set that there's no way you'd go bankrupt. Unless you spent it all on lostech Mechs in the Black Market.)

Why would anyone care about the turn limit unless you are going for high score?

I made the same mistake when I first tried career mode. It isn't immediately clear that the game/career doesn't end when you reach 1200 days.

Yeah, I just started my first career - this is good to know.

I would simply prefer more time than turn it off. Every stinking time I give career a go I waste WAY to much time traveling to flash points. Always fail the score limit before end. Probably give it one more go and ignore all flash points that are not close.

You can edit the game files to increase the limit. Even after completing the career, you can increase it. I used the cheat to complete career quickly and updated my game files and the career switched from complete to in progress. I kept the reward and continued to gain score.

What's the point to a score, if it isn't normalized to something (like turn count)?

There is a mod that increases the career timer to 10 years or so.... you can even add it after you have completed your normal career of 1200 days, and then get the career completion bonus twice. There may be a different mod that turns off career mode, but I haven't ever seen it.

I don't recommend modding the time limit, since it's something you can completely ignore if you don't care about the scoring system.

It's just a challenge mode for people who want to do the absolute most they can in a set time, to compare with others (or their own previous attempts).

Modding the time limit defeats the purpose of the whole feature. Makes more sense to ignore that feature if it's not something you want to consider in your gameplay.
