Also: force the v-sync.
Delete saves keep 1-2( indeed hillarious to suggest this but thats the price us players pay for devs choosing unity ugh... but as you can see, many people and i can too confirm it is indeed helping with overall performance )
Force vsync or limit fps to 75, 80 or 90 or 100 etc.
Disable ambient occlusion see if that helps at all
Use 1080 p ( lame yep but thats what it is untill overall performance is fixed ) , not your fault the game runs poorly even on high end hardware .
In my btech campaigns im using 2-3 saves max and sell any/all items i have ( ..again another hillarious and retarded quickfix but it works!... , because unity
Oh but they admit. Every resolution above 1920x1080 has issues. Its written in the pinned resolution thread.
I've turned off ambient occlusion, which helped a lot initially, and forcing Vsync seems to help too.
I have noticed that the save game thing does have an impact, but for me it seems to be the between-game pauses - loading things prior to battles - finishing up at the end of battles, etc. Removing all but a handful of saves seemed to really fix that.
(I keep one after I get the Argo, and 2-3 "current" saves just in-case of crashes)
Ultimately, however, it's going to have to come down to post-release optimisation. Let's just hope they're on it. :)
I have
intel xeon 2660v3
32gb ram
nvidia 10603gb
And the game doesn't work well. i really often get drop to 30-40 fps even on the first mission (with turrets and mining collective).
mem 32GB
GPU AORUS GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce Xtreme Edition
O/S Windows 7 Pro custom install specialist build.
I can run the vanilla Battletech at 4k with very few delays for AI and 60fps well can get 102fps but I use vsync because I don't see the point in running a GPU at full speed for no reason I have a 60hz monitor.
I play the Roguetech mod and still get 60fps
why Necro a 3 year old thread for you CPU which is a 2.6ghz base 3.3ghz turbo chip that was never designed for gaming.
I blame Unity, which sucks and people should stop using it. I've seen unity games stutter and slow down in the game trailer that the developer is using to sell their game with.
Besides that most BT issues are about them not knowing how to manage memory, and thread their code properly.
Some lucky people have less issues, but the devs never admitted they did utter garbage with optimization
The game is probably running with x16 Anti-Aliasing (So basically running at a 17280 x 30720 resolution) with no way to change it, that i can see.
Boot.config can be found in steamapps\common\Battletech\Battletech_Data
the boot.config should be altered to read what that does is enable rendering jobs across multiple CPU cores instead of just 1 thread.
gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1
gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1
wait-for-native-debugger=0
scripting-runtime-version=latest
vr-enabled=0
hdr-display-enabled=0
I was involved in the creation of this guide most of the tips are from the Rogue Tech team.
making your machine perform better with these fixes is simply a question of tuning your PC and making sure it is setup correctly

follow that guide and you should see performance gains.
