You'll get those easy.
Of course just going all cash is the slightly safer route, but you'll get less out of it.
The exception to this is if you're about to not make rent. Then take cash and make rent.
Apart from that single case though, taking max salvage is almost always going to be better for your bottom line. I've recently outgrown the 3 skull missions too and generally leave each mission with 2 mechs to sell from medium to heavy.
I should try to keep my enemies in one piece.
This ensures cash even if the salvage is light, and generally give me enough parts if it is a good haul.
