WHAT?!?
NO TIMBER WOLFS NO BUY!!! >:-|
You'll be missing out then but that's entirely up to you.
Battletech universe is much much more, then Clan Invasion.
"There are no Clan ‘Mechs in the game yet but the BattleTech universe spans hundreds of years and in success, we plan to include them in later installments."
One thing I notice is that the usage of the Mechwarrior Online (MWO) models might push them towards doing a clan invasion in, say....maybe the second DLC expansion pack.
Take that for the baseless speculation that it is, but the MWO designs might only have about 10 Inner Sphere Mechs left over for what doesn't make it into the base game (that's an estimate based on what Harebrained said on their forums - could be 8, could be 12 or what have you).
You can see the MWO models here:
https://mwomercs.com/game/battlemechs/light-mechs
The list of 'maybe' confirmed mechs in the base game is here:
https://community.battletechgame.com/forums/threads/3926
Weighing that, I'm getting maybe 10+ mech that will be missing.
(At the risk of digression, these MWO fellows are gorgeous models, especially if you do an image search and see them from more angles. I'm an older player who can remember the originals/unseens with a pen and paper box set in 1985 or thereabouts, but I know when a visual reboot is needed and can really appreciate the art direction put into MWO, if not maybe the business model of that game).
Anyway, if Harebrained wanted to make a second expansion pack, the easy move would be to go Clan Invasion as there's a huge number of models already built by the MWO art team, with animations to boot. Otherwise they'd have to either design or commission their own models and animations, which would almost certainly be a more economically prohibitive undertaking than going with the clans models.
So, if you're hoping for clan invasion....you've got that going for you.
Huh.... that's actually... a pretty ugly design.
It doesn't look like it should walk with out falling over... at least with MWIO's model: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a331/sturmgreif/Bane3_zps3af254e7.jpg
"Alpha strike!" *mech falls backwards* "... Now in top down attack mode!"
One of the most important is diplomacy. (one of the reason am very happy they partner up with Paradox. who has the most experience with diplomacy so far. and aren´t afraid to be political incorrect)
We all seen the combat footage already. so that looks good.
While personally I would have loved to have Clan mechs and Star league tech era.
The clan invasions made fighting Clans not only dangerous but the rewards of clan tech gear or star league gear. the more tempting. it is like having Legendarie treasure right in front of your nose.
All you need to do is survive.
Hope also you can expand to reinforced lance or company in later DLC.
Regiment size wouldn´t be fun for most people cause a session would take too long.
But having 6 or 12 mechs might be doable in these present times.
Paradox DLC and updates are never forced onto you.
If you are happy with unupgraded product. example you don´t want all the nifty updates and dlc.
You can still play that version.
One of the reason people who play paradox product. do not mind the DLC cause it is optional.
So if you are not satisfied with the new update and it ruined your game experience.
You just go back to a previous stable build.
And keep expanding there game universe like a MMO that you pay yearly 2-3 times.
"My only concern regarding the DLC question from the OP is all dependent on the publisher, Paradox. They are infamous for DLCs being added on later, but DLCs are always optional and can provide some added gameplay to the title. Some people like to stick with a vanilla version while others will opt for DLCs."
I know DLCs are optional dude lmfao
