This is the only game in my entire library that I actually hear my CPU fan turn on, or my GPU fan turn on. I have a new video card, a XFX Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5. And my CPU heatsink/fan is all copper and takes up the whole inside space of my full case.
Coming from the pc hardware industry this is common practice for testing. I have seen games with various fps related issues, when Dawn of War2 came out the fame crashed during cutscenes and i did see my hear increase but not by an alarming amount. Turned on the fps monitor and the little animation for my ship jumping yoyod all over from a couple hundred to a couple thousand fps, no way to know of that was accurate, but when it read about 2k for more than a couple seconds instant crash to desktop.
Launching Painkiller when it was like 3ish years old caused rubberbanding as well as noticeable increase in heat for all parts i had monitors for, and this happened right before a ctd, vsync cleared it for both. Normally im not a fan of vsync for a few reasons, but in turn based they dont matter and outside of that sometimes thats what it takes to play a certain fame. Then there was nvidia 196.75 drivers and starcraft2 when it was new, sc2 lobby was hitting 400fps and some cards werent reacting as they should it it and overheating.
All of the other cleaning advice is very likely a good idea but certain combos of drivers hardware and settings can cause this, turn on a program that has a ingame overlay for fps monitoring and see for yourself.
the hot air gets stuck below the gpu.
so the whole system is hotter than it needs to be, but i´ve never had problems with this.
i mean i bought metro:exodus in this sale too and have no problems
but as i said i can play battletech without problems too, it was really only this one particular screen that would cause this.
i watched it with my gpu overlay open and could see the temp rise and rise to the safety shutdown.
in game it stays between 60-65°C.
for now i´ll head back out into the periphery. just claimed my ship from these pirates
but i will try forching vsync, just to be on the safe side.
thanks alot fellow commanders, o7
There are a few screens that kick my 2070 super cooling into high gear for some reason.
Look to limit other games so keep your machine running cooler and more stable.
