Game Not Saving

I've been trying to play this game on Xbox Game Pass but I can't save the game. I like what I have played so far, so I am tempted to buy it on Steam. However, I have read that save issues exist on Steam platform too?

Can anybody shed some light on this?

Never had a problem saving. Not sure that's really a thing. Maybe some others will chime in.

If you Google 'battletech cant save game' you'll see the problem. However, most of these posts are a year or more old now.

Most are also PEBKAC issues. I've played the game since beta and never had a save fail.
Many people also run mods and then freak out when they update and don't see their saves. I don't know if such a bug ever actually existed, but I haven't heard complaint of such a thing in a long time. Cloud saves can also be confusing to some players.

Yes, that's the exact problem I am having. I guess I need to wait for them to fix it - or get it on Steam.

Bought it on steam and palyed it without any problem for months....until I bought and installed the last expansion : was able to do a few saves, then wanted to restart a new campaign. No way to save any more, despite new installations and changing mode (ironman).

If this is a very recent problem I would recommend opening a ticket with Paradox. The problem I and the other people in that thread are experiencing is specifically to do with the XBox Game Pass version. There was a few problems with the Steam version back in 2018 but it should have been long resolved.
Hope you get it fixed.
