Need help understanding the Raven- RVN - 1x
I get the EMC field and how that all works, but am really struggling with the active probe ability..

It says and I quote, "The EW suite also adds the active probe ability to unit's weapons panel."

What unit? The one with the EW suite? The Raven? its an apostrophe s so I assume it means the Raven's panel... Nope, not there..

It then says, quote,"The active probe is a triggered ability that uses the firing action and performs a sensor lock on all enemies in range."

If I am understanding this correctly, that means when I shoot at a target the ability triggers and it sensor locks all enemies within range... Nope never happens...

I went hmmmm, maybe I need a pilot with sensor lock for this to take place.. Nope never happens...

So what the hell does it mean?...

Cheers and happy hunting..

Beautiful.. Wow is that a powerful little tool... Not sure why they call it a triggered ability, its not triggered, its activated... How I didn't see that big ass button??? Setting an appointment with the eye doc rite now... Cheers...

The Ping is very situational. Really its only claim to fame is that it shuts down other ECM fields for a few turns if you catch the ECM carrier in the radius.

Yeah. it also has like half the range of your normal sensors or something.
Still can be good to identify several enemies over a cover to provide indirect fire and pick more valuable target. Or to shave off evasion pips from multiple mechs at once.

TBH i think that Rogue Tech handles eletronic warfare better. All of it: ECM, ECCM, stealth, jamming, identification, active probes...

"Triggered ability" as in you have to trigger it (push a button). Not "triggered" as in "it's triggered by some other action".

Yay, for potentially-vague game terminology! :D

Yeah rite.. I'm coming from things like POE where triggered means just that.. A triggered ability is triggered by something, not by the player choosing to..
