Awesome 8Q or 9T? (store mech part locations)
I salvaged a part for the 8Q which i figured i'd buld, but i keep finding 9T parts forsale, Figures right? I noticed that the 9t has better hardpoints for a laser boat, so it got me thinking maybe i should get that instead.

My main Q, do these mechs have different engine sizes? I know some awesome's in TT have bigger/smaller engines and i could swear the 8Q was one of them but i cant recall. Anyone know?

PS, which part of the starmap has a higher chance of getting 8Q, victor, and black Knight parts in the stores? Seamed like along the upper boarder, near the main faction space had them popping more, than the left side to lower area of the map. Is that just my luck on RNG or is there do i need to go back north to find more victor parts?

has anyone made a map of stores and where mechs are more likely to spawn? I know they revamped the stores a while back, but i just have not sunk enough time into the game to really see a theme. Heck i haven't even run a mission in davion or steiner space.

umm, I don't know for sure if that link answered your question definitavely or not, but, I have a save where I have an 8Q and an 8T both in storage. I loaded it up and pulled them both into my mech bay. I stripped armor from both. both have 54.5 tons of space available for armor and weapons.

edit - and the 8T can't fit 3 LRM15?

8T looks more versatile than 8Q thanks to the missile racks, and still has a total of 4 energy weapon slots in the arms(also a head slot, but meh). Can't find any info that they have different engines in game.

Cool thanks.. I'm building a 3XPPC you know the classic, But i thought adding the SL's would be a nice touch, if things get hot and close. Punch um! Buy the idea of a ML+SL energy boat sounds cool.

Thanks for the linky. Maybe it is just MWO's hero that has the bigger engine. I'm not a huge lore person, but PGI used a lot of lore setting up there mechs, so sarna can help too i suppose.

but yea the 8T people like to run 3XLRM15's which is a decent LRM boat if your not going Catapult.

8T can't fit 3XLRM15's? I thought it could. Maybe It's another variant, there is one that has 3M slots, at least in MWO  the site i use is for MWO, but can kinda work for this if you just look at stock. (site is called smurfy)

They have the same speed (105.)

You can go to your Steam directory then "SteamApps\common\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data\chassis"
to check out all non DLC mech specs.

For DLC stuff you can go here
