One of the first Multiplayer games I ever played was on AOL (back in the day when the INTERNET was NOT free and you only had 3 hours per month for 20 bucks) I found a game called MPBT - MultiPlayer Battletech. It was set in the 3025 era and I liked the Wolverine in that game and had been fond of it ever since.
Thanks for the reply. What about during third and fourth succession wars. It seemed marauder, cataphract were built only in small numbers and were considered exotic during those time. Do you know any other medium to heavy mechs that were iconic during that time? Were there any lostech specific variants?
A lot of the desired mechs are simply the biggest. With the Atlas being king, though some were black sheep (charger, banshee, etc).
It also depended on role. Brawler, sniper, anti-air, etc.
With the key troopers being mediums : Shadowhawk, Centurion, and Vindicator, etc that had multiple roles they could fill as needed (some long range, decent medium to short)
With lights also playing a role (especially with the DC fielding entire units of Panthers)
Firestarter (i love this Mech, best lightmech in my opinion. Dmg-output like mediums)
Medium:
Kintaro (SRM Carrier dmg-output like heavys, from side and back)
Heavy:
Grasshopper (Brawler, Scout)
Black Knight (Sniper, Gladiator, Brawler)
Assault:
Battlemaster (4 JJ's, Brawler, Scout, Allrounder)
Highlander (DD, Sniper)
Atlas (DD, Brawler)
PS. My personal favourits out of the game, Marauder II, Pillager, Black Knight, Night Hawk, Cestus
Steiner: Griffin, Zeus, Commando, Ax and Hatchetman
Davion: Enforcer, Victor, Archer as a firesupport/command mech
Liao: Raven, Vindicator, Centurion, Catapult, Cataphract
Kurita: Jenner, Panther, Dragon
Marik: this one is a bit harder since Marik seldom appears in the books but Spiders and Hermes are noted Marik mechs.
Atlas (Gen DeChavilier's ride)
Stalker
Awesome
Heavy:
Orion (Gen Kerensky's ride)
Marauder
Warhammer (Natasha Kerensky's ride)
Archer (Morgan Kell's ride)
Medium:
Centurion (Kai Allard Liao's ride)
Enforcer
Hunchback
Light:
Panther
UrbanMech
Mistfox lists the mechs the houses could still produce or still had large quantities stashed away. Rare mechs/hard to produce mechs like the Atlas were definitely king, but not fielded very often.
Marauder was highly prized for its high end armor.
LAM's were sought after for their ability to fly or walk.
The Battlemaster and Cyclops were favorites because they were assaults and were command mechs because of their computer systems (Cyclops) and some variants of the Battlemaster had a two-person cockpit.
The Dragon was a Kurita design and was a symbol of pride and honor for Kuritans.
The Hunchback was feared because of the AC20.
Confirmed we are getting the Warhammer and Marauder no set date yet. I am hoping this year
Warhammer and Marauder will come in Sommer 2019.
well soon I cant be sure I know all of the IP rights finish for HG in the next 2 years, which in theory will enable the Unseen to become usable by all of the games.
Crime_to_be_doing it was the Zentradi officers pod the Glaug.
