Campaign: Priority mission Extraction

I can't deduce how to complete "download data" objective.

Walkthrough wiki states:

As of the Last DLC, several things changed:
....
It is crucial to get at least 1 Mech into the base as there is a 5 turn time limit and you will have to stay 3 Turns inside the spot in the base.

However there is no any borders where taht spot is. All my Mechs stay so close to desingnated poin (relay-building) as it possible. However I still see
"with 0/1 unit(s) for 3 Rounds".
The mission fails.

P.S. Again, it seems that mission was remastered from original version. There is huge rock on place where relay-building (with designated borders) was before.

I will reply to own question.

The way to reach center of platform (download point) is walk from behind. You must destroy some buildings from downhill side.
Another way is jump-jets.

Thank you! I hadn't considered leveling the base first. I was SO ticked off cause I couldn't get to the X. In the previous version of the mission, the data area is a hex around the target point.

I see the solution so I’m just here to vent how I hate losing a long mission in the very end just because of the bad design. Argh!

This took me 3 times of killing the last enemy and failing the mission before I came here. Good to know others have struggled in the past on this. lol. Will try the recommedations here. Thanks!

I am finding the same with the mission Liberation Smithon. It looks easy 4 years ago. It has changed from the original and is much harder now.

There is a certain joy in watching Highlanders wreck enemy mechs. They are some of the best you can field in the basic game.
