WARNING: Mod Users Infinite Loading Screen
I was stuck loading for new campaign and skirmishes - even after two clean installs and verifications. The black screen remains static, with the loading screen spinning and nothing else. After a long time searching, I finally found the solution.

If you save a custom mech in the skirmish mechbay that uses modded parts, then delete the mods or reinstall your game, those changes will persist - EVEN with cloud saving turned off and all the reinstalls and verifications you can do.

Before you reinstall your game, edit or otherwise alter your modded game (including switching back to normal), DELETE ALL OF YOUR CUSTOM MECHS. Or you will be stuck with infinite loading screens that cannot be easily fixed.

The ONLY way I have found to fix this issue is to reinstall the mods, then delete the custom mechs. That's it. So PLEASE be careful, or you'll be in the same boat as I was. Hopefully in the future HBS will implement a more user-friendly access route to these files.

I had the same, however I rebooted my computer then the intro movie played (it hadn't beforehand) then the game started normally when starting a new campaign.

Thanks for the reply, Battlestar. I'm almost certain I know what the issue is.

Yep, it's awkwardly annoying, but if you have any skirmish mech loadouts using stuff from a mod then the game will get stuck loading when you open the skirmish-mode mechlab after deleting the mod.

There actually is a way to reset the game and get it working without having to reinstall the mods, it's just pretty obscure. All your skirmish loadouts are stored in the file
"settings_cloud.sav"
under
"Steam\userdata\3353711\637090\remote\C0"

If you delete that file all your custom mechs in the skirmish bay should dissapear, and the game will work normally again without the mods. You may need to turn off cloud saving first.

I did that pretty early on, but was still running into the same issue.
