Distress call event, can you save them?

As the title say's the random distress call event doesn't seem to have a successful outcome if you delay they die, if you rush in they die and your ship gets damaged. I assume this is RNG but I've never had it come up with a good result so I'm just wondering has anyone else seen this evvent get a good outcome?

Yes, it can have a good outcome.

It tends to have a positive outcome in Restoration space, however if you're in Taurian space while in the midst of the campaign, rescuing them usually fails (at least it did for me, ~50% of the time.) After the campaign, the results for rescuing them in Taurian space usually succeed.

I have had mostly positive outcomes so it must be RNG. The extra faction rep is nice it might be influanced by Argos engine upgrades as other events seem to award you better/extra outcomes somtimes.

Interesting my Argo's fully upgraded I wonder if there's a hidden RNG adjustment. Oh well I'll keep rushing over to save them when I see the event.

about 8 times out 10 I save them, and gain some morale and rep. 1 out of 10 they blow up I lose a Morale point, and 1 in 10 they blow up and no lasting consequences. RNGsus has been good to me on that event. Game needs more events, keep seeing the same ones over and over...

Actually I saw over on the developer boards they're apparently bugged. There's meant to be two streams of events the company ones we see and individual ones. The individual ones are bugged which also breaks some of the company ones because after the initial company event you can't get the individual ones so the event chain gets broken. For example the pox antivirals are impossible to obtain currently because while you can get the starting event you can't get the indivdual ones to continue it.
