Do Battlemech cockpits have a sleeper cabin?
I've been browsing the wiki to add some lore knowledge to the game as I play it and a few recent missions that involved having a rescuee join the pilot in a mech got me wondering about the cockpit so I took at a look and this is what I found on the wiki . . .

"BattleMech cockpit life support systems can generally allow a MechWarrior to fight in even the most inhospitable atmospheres. With the cockpit sealed and pressurized, there exists enough oxygen to last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. The system is also able to draw in oxygen from the outside environment through a filtration system for as long as the fusion engine is operational, though certain chemical and biological agents can bypass this defense. A fold-out commode handles any human waste, which is then typically incinerated via microwaves or other means, and storage lockers can hold several days' worth of food rations, water and other gear. Some roomier cockpits can handle more luxurious amenities, such as a microwave oven and refrigerator, or have enough space to carry a passenger.[2] "

Fold out toilets, fridges, microwaves, storage lockers with day's worth of food (and presumably medical supplies) just how big are these cockpits? I always had the impression it was you and a seat then you get out of the mech and go down its ladder. This makes it seem like there's an entire little home away from home on the larger mechs at least with possible room for a bed (If you can fit a passenger you can surely make at least a reclining chair like in a car) where the pilot can stretch out and nap on those day's at the bottom of a river waiting for the call to arms.

On another note do some toilets vent right into the nuclear reactor (as other means) to burn up the waste?

British tanks are equipped with tea brewing compartment, Who's to say something much bigger that it can literally step on tank can't have refrigerator & toilet :P

I have to assume it depends on the mech. I'm sure the smaller ones might not have this option.

That info does confuse me though. Because mech warriors can eject the capsule. SO that would imply they they are in a contained capsule like pod while even inside the mech. Maybe the capsule only fully seals when ejected?

If they are Australian Lond distance ones they do
It comes standard

It clearly depends on mech. The Shadow Hawk is noted for how good it's cockpit accomidations are for example. Sarna is full of neat tidbits like that.:raven:

The OP has provide the right info.
If you were actually playing the pencil and paper Mechwarrior RPG, you would need to know that. The cockpit accomodation depended on the mech, or can be aftermarket addons by your friendly tech. Some mechs would have a small cockpit with ejection seat, like clanner mechs. Other mechs have whole head ejection. Some mechs like the Battlemaster can have dual cockpit system. Basically, have to read each mech description in the techreadout books for that info.

I think the death star demostrated the folly of having a vent lead directly into the core of your engine.

In the books there is sometimes a space for baggage behind the seat or even just pushing the seat all the way back and having the mech warrior sit on the passenger, with room for two people being limited to the battlemaster and a few other mechs. It is just done in the game to avoid complexity.

LOL imagine if the fusion reactor spiked and vented out through the toilet. A true hotseat.

There is also the Rumble seat, which is an extra passenger seat that can be installed but which lacks an escape pod/ejection seat.

They're too advanced to sleep, brah.

Either way the bigger mechs sound like they've got a much more comfortable living arrangement than I thought.

I'd probably never flush while I'm still sitting :P

There is an illustration of a capsule in our BATTLETECH game, spoiler to talk about it though. Drew this a few years ago for SPAZ, same deal I guess:

I think you linked the wrong picture.

I wouldn't think that mechs have a sleeper cabin. It would be more akin to a fighter jet cockpit.
