Best mechwarrior skills for each mech role?
In your opinion of course. Reasoning would be helpful.

Thank you, Teralitha, for your VERY useful video, it helps me a lot!

I would like, like OP, to have many opinions for your choices of the skills of the pilots, what do you think are the most usefuls for you,all? (and/or for the best combination of your 4 mechwarriors at each mission)

i spec. in tactics and gunnery because with the collshot mastery you can easy alphastrike even assault mechs, and gunnery helps against mechs witch are harder to hit, plus i like the multi target, sometimes you can kill 3 mechs with 1 mech by spliting fire.

I tend to do the same :D

When forces are relatively even, I try to leg mechs that I want to salvage.
When I am badly outnumbered, I try to core rather than leg.
With two LRM boats (both pilots being able to multi-target) I can also reliably knock down two mediums or an assault every turn.

And a specific question for "breaching shot", it works only with a really single weapon or with a single kind of weapon, too (2 same) ?

It works with single fired weapon - good for high damage guns, like PPC.

Breaching shot works when you shoot one weapon only at a target. Note: you can split fire breaching shot - that is target three mechs for instance and hit each one with one weapon therefore each mech is hit with a breaching shot.

Additional note: breaching shot negates cover and guard NOT evasion counters - evasion counters affect breaching shot, so try to soak up/use sensor lock on those evasion counters before you have your sniper engage

As for my pilot skill nodes, these are what I pick that suit my playstyle:
PC Commander: Tactician x2, Pilot x1
Striker: Gunnery x2, Pilot x1
Brawler: Pilot x1, Guts x2
Support: Tactician x1, Gunnery x2 (split fire LRM20s breaching shot yes please)

Over time you will unlock the whole sub nodes

Once you get Assaults you'll regret not going for the +1 Initiative Skill....just saying =)

Bulwark is king for heavy mech pilots. Taking 1/2 damage from all sources beats evading 4 missiles out of 60 anyday. Plus, trying to move to gain 2 or 3 Evasion pips and end up in cover is not always possible; so again, Bulwark beats Evasion. Multi-shot with Breach Shot synergizes perfectly when running a heavy hitting weapon like the AC20.

I always take one Sensor guy, and on him I'll have Evasion because he's always moving anyway in order to Sensor Lock enemies for my missile boat (makes taking down base turrets simple). I take Ace Pilot on him, since he's out front, and can often get a good shot in, then retreat.

Juggernaut - I don't use a melee guy.
Master Tactician - I almost always Reserve all mechs and then go in a row after all enemies. Since most have Bulwark, and I don't want to shoot an enemy with Evasive only for them to gain it back before my others mechs go, I just don't find this skill attractive.

In the late game you essentially need atleast one "Bulwark" tank to soak most of the dammage. It's really useful when you trigger reinforcemnts and you facing down 8 Assaults at once.
