Shadowhawk vs Centurion
Got to the point in the game where they give you a free Centurion...now Behemoth is my long range support gal with LRMs up the wazoo...would the Centurion be a good upgrade from the Shadowhawk that she started with? Its still got the same amount of missile hardpoints. But I'm not sure, it is slightly lighter.

Well you could re-equip both so you can use them, and ditch any light cannon fodder mechs you have.

Centurion is better than the shadowhawk. Centurion fits 3 LRM 10s with enough space to carry nearly 1000 missiles as ammo while also having armour.

Shadowhawk because it is a "speedy mech" loses some of it's weight allowance to a larger engine.

i did my centurion with a ac/20 +dmg +stability. i use it as a close in brawler/killer.

nearly maxed armor and think its got 2MLs and 3 tons of ammo.

thing is a dang beast. a called shot to CT drops most light or medium mechs. sometimes ill just use the ac/20 to get a breaching shot.

note - i do have another mech, that i use for sensor lock to lower evades to give the ac/20 as good a chance as possible to hit if im not making a called shot.

Oddly the Shadowhawk makes a better brawler than the Centurion, even though the latter is described as one.

But for Behemoth as an LRM user, I'd go with the Centurion.

Why on earth do you field 1000 missiles? I take 240 on my Trebuchet and rarely run out

ive not been very impressed with the shadowhawk. (in this game..TT is diffrent.) tried several diffrent configs but... none i liked. heck for most of my game so far. the shadowhawk, has been where i stick my sensor lock pilot.

For Behemoth i ended up putting her in a moded Trebuchet for awhile, ive moved her to a moded Kintaro. 2 LRM15++. both had heavy armor.. even for my LRM boats.. i want armor. to many dang lrm tanks and such.

I put two SRM6s, an SRM4, two SLasers and an MLaser on my Shadow Hawk and have never looked back. Never run a mission without it.

Centurion with an LRM20, LRM15 and an LRM10, almost no armour but never in the frontlines is a beast

The Shadowhawk is a very solid mech with great armor, mobility and heat management and the damage on it is not too shabby - 2 SRM6+, 1 SRM4+ and 1 ML can net you more than 200 damage which is enough to leg a heavy mech. And it can fire all of those for 3+ turns.

The Centurion can carry 3 SRM6 and 2 ML and can fire all for 2 turns on hot and 3 turns on cold biomes. I prefer to use it when I start seeing Thundebolts on regular basis. Those mechs usually have more than 220 hp on the legs so you need the extra firepower.

In general, I used a lance of 2 Shadowhawks and 2 Centurions till I salvaged Thunderbolt 5SE and Orions. This lance with those weapon setups absolutely destroyed 2 heavy enemy lances on regular basis.

I put 2x LRM 20's into my Centurion with 3x LRM ammos and just bombard from a distance with multi-target and breaching shot if needed. The ShadowHawk I put 2x SRM 6's, an SRM 4, and a medium laser. I also maxed out jump jets on it and buffed the armor up some. Use it as my primary brawler and gave it to my main character whom I have as a Flanker so they can use Ace Pilot to fire then jump jet back into cover if needed.
im glad you still have dekker and behemoth.

I'm like the blob in that I am a gelatinous fat sack of ♥♥♥♥ I creep and I crawl.

Nah but seriously I went into the first story mission with 600 missiles and ran out before the final fight had even started. So now I carry 1000 presumably that will get me through anything.

I run with a scunt, a brawler, a slightly longer range brawler and a missile boat.

Centurion with an AC20. Get your best gunner on it and kick butts
