Megamek is just "a fan-made Battletech board-game on your computer" and no, it's not a better game.

It is a more accurate TT simulator. It is not a better game.

I mean, you're responding to someone who claims he has 30 years experience with the table-top game, but still complains about "OP" vehicles in THIS game when they're 1:1 conversions from the table-top.

I agree, MegaMek is better. And even while it uses Java, it lags less than a BATTLETECH.

So incoorect it's not even funny. I had assumed at least a few people might know a few things but I guess not (not even the devs it seems). Oh well.

Yeah its not like the owner of HBS knows anything about Battletech or anything.

I agree - and don't agree.

1. MegaMek is a _great_ game - if you want a true translation of the TT to the computer. I LOVE the Mekhq campaign system.

2. Battletech is a _different_ game with it's own merits and good sides. Yes, it leans on the TT game but it definitely isn't a 1:1 translation.
It als has much larger commercial potential (let's be real here)

3. My dream-game would be Megamek - Battletech edition, essentially Megamek with Battletech graphics.
It wouldn't sell very good, but I'd kill for that game.
