Compare your PC specs to required specs.
there's your answer.
Sam, thanks a bunch, I just booted up my work laptop apparently it has an Intel HD 615 which seems to be roughly comparable to the 6100. I'm going to download Steam and give it a shot. Thanks again, I won't blame you if it's a bit of a waste of time.
This may seem like a dumb question but since you own the game why not try it on your laptop and see?
Presumably he was just checking if anyone had tried first, to save wasting his time.
Doing it like this Battletech cost me ~$50, If i had to buy a new laptop, it would be more like $1550.
I get it that OP have more than one computer... But like I the guy I quoted said... How about you just try it out and see instead of wasting everybody time when you know you have an underpowered PC or laptop? It might work, it might not. I played games with a 12 years old, outdated PC in the past... Not once have I ever bothered to do stuff like this.
One: Current laptop was free and meets the requirements of other aspects of my life that a gaming PC simply does not.
Two: The download is pretty darn large and in some countries we still have datacaps and/or slow as anything download speeds.
Besides he got the answer he needed within minutes before spending hours waiting for the download, so why not ask?
Well on paper the 615 has only half the power of the 6100. But the main problem seems to be that your CPU is one that is usually only passively cooled. That means that it'll have to throttle down both the CPU and GPU clock speed considerably if you need to run it at full speed for more than a couple of minutes.
