Does the map open up to the entire battletech galaxy at some point?

You're permitted to explore all the systems shown on your navigation map as the restrictions on movement are lifted, but the map never actually gets bigger.

This is so disappointing.

It would take you hours to visit every system available even if you were just visiting. If you did a single mission in each system, you're talking about three to four hundred hours of playtime. (Admittedly partially because of load times, but even so.)

If you're talking about the current map, not even close. Upgrade the Argo.
