What is DFA, please?
Just starting and learning. I'm playing the third mission, and now my four mechs have DFA in their weapon list. What is DFA, please?

How much dmg does DFA actually deal to you? i got a leg actuator that reduces dmg to self by -30 but its 6 bloody tonns!

RNG... roll the dice, each DFA I've performed has always been varied damage.

It could also reasonably stand for Don't Forget Ammo.

i use it as a last resort or when i dont feel like wasting shots or ammo on light mechs and need them dead asap

the number in RED is how much damage is done 50% each leg.

a 140 DFA will do 70 each leg

Thanks But seriously who the hell has 6 spare tonns for a mod. IT seems like its too heavy for 1 leg too.

Why bother with weapons when ENTIRE MECH IS WEAPON?

Because damage reduction isnt enough to negate damage enough plus dont forget you take weapon dmg on legs.

But you can't simple not DFA if you are on Highlander.
DFA= DEAH + FALLING APART (Not Enemy)

Yeah I found that mod too and I am guessing you can use it in Assault mech? But then again would you really want to lower armor to fit that thing in?

That's when you use FISTS

There's actually achievements for destroying both an enemy mech and yourself using a DFA, and also for killing an enemy mech with a DFA w/ an UrbanMech.

To quote the thread creator,

I fielded 4 Urbanmechs and ended up facing a Firestarter, Jenner, Blackjack, and an Urbanmech. The Jenner went down almost immediately after running into my set of Urbies, but the Firestarter managed to run off behind the BJ and Urbie that showed up. The Urbie went down after a few small lasers and AC10s to the CT. I started splitting my shots with SL to the Firestarter and ACs to the BJ. The BJ lost its left leg, right torso, and left arm around the same time the Firestarter dropped, but not after almost overheating one of my poor Urbies. At that point I started the Urbie Gangbang of DFA after DFA. It took 5 attempts, but the last one that managed to kill the BJ blew out its legs and was overheating from the Firestarter flamers.

I'm still laughing over the absurdity of 4 Urbies jumping on the Blackjack repeatedly.

Even in campaign mode rather than skirmish mode, it might be a funny way to destroy a last enemy if it's crippled enough to not be much of a threat -- and you have the leg armor to tank the DFA damage and enough stability that you won't fall down and injure your pilot.

1 time had accidently DFA'ded med mech on wulverine... and didnt got any internal leg damage! I think if target not "sturdy" enough and mech have good leg armor you can save some of it performing DFA... Mb bug but thats it...

I could see that being put to use on a Heavy or Assault Mech depending on your choice weapons loadout.
