it's a good RTS though, not the base building grab a mob and point them at the enemy base type. Slow paced enough you get to shift individual mechs around, call shots, set up ambushes etc. Worth a look.

i tried and failed to get MW4 mercs running under win10, not sure if i want to try with this.

The original battletech2 was a RTS RPG style game and that was pretty good.

Dat FMV. how long till we get 3D characters that look as real as the FMV to 2D TV? 5 years maybe?

i tried and failed to get MW4 mercs running under win10, not sure if i want to try with this.

The "Darkest Hour" package works with it, just need to mount the ISO file (2 clicks on Win 10) and select the .exe. Several dep. on resolution, higher rez causes issues with menu centering but the game runs properly otherwise.

You can grab the Darkest Hour MCG mod, which I believe iis a reworking of the original game which adds some things and links both the vanilla and expansion campaign together. I already d/l'd iit but havent had the chance to try it yet. It's also free and works with 64bit OS's

Just tried the first mission. It's really good. I can't believe I passed this up back in the day. It's a different kind of RTS. It is slowed paced, plenty of time to move individual units around. The units move themselves, they torso twist, and shots are not guaranteed. It has the management aspects of the Mechwarrior series and I love these 2d pixelated graphics. Can only get it to run in 1024x760 but that's okay. Run the ISO file first then pick an .exe file.

Different resolutions are achieved by hex edits... just grab a hex editor and compare the executables, you'll see where the edit was done. :)

Mine have different .exe files for different resolutions inside the main folder.
